Whether someone likes this meta or not has no bearing on how well they play. Just saying everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Actually that is your opinion and you’re entitled to it but any opinion that differs from yours is not a learn to play issue. And yes I’ve seen you post l2p on many people when they expressed an opinion different than yours

Considering how bad PvP balance has been in this game for the past year, that’s not saying much.

Ya, balance is better than season1, but it still has a long way to go. There are still quite a few overbuffed professions and elite specs which are far too strong.

Why would you prefer the pvp post patch?

How were uberbunkers like bunker mes for example, more fun or better for the game than the current pvp?

If the pvp atm is maybe to bursty, than they can always implement something like ‘’all dmg reduced by x% in pvp’’.

I prefer the pvp post patch, even though one of my favo classes, ele, got hit really hard (or too hard).

There are even less viable classes now.

How the heck did ArenaNet completely ignore the glaring issues?

In my point of view it is a l2p issue too, the previous meta was rollface gameplay, this meta is better but there is still some adjustement to make, nerf scrapper druid reaper and up war

And in trying to correct last meta they may have gone a little too far. But there are people who like to play differently maybe the high damage burst meta isn’t their style. That doesn’t mean they can’t do it only that they don’t like being forced to play that way. Everyone has a play style they like yours may be high damage while theirs is defense.

lol its only better that the Post hot meta. Best meta was the one before hot dropped. So not really best meta and its not even in awhile and its still terrible.

The issue is that there are currently only 4 viable classes in PvP. Anything else is suboptimal. So, play reaper, rev, druid or scrapper if you want to do well.

Mesmer deserves it’s current state, it never required much skill and thus attracted the wanna be’s who pretend to be skilled. I hate every mesmer and I laugh when I see them because they deserve their current state.

If there is only 4 viable classes how would that be considered a good thing? Personally I consider that BAD

Except thief isn’t very good in anything OTHER than a highly coordinated team.

They really didnt. they needed the buff. thief was the most useless class b4 patch. the only class who is lacking right now is warrior.

My bone of contention is that there used to be: bunker and burst (that branches more). Now, there is just burst. There are literally necros who charge you and you are dead in 5-6 seconds. And you can’t do anything about it, because they lock you in total fear. Thieves just have to press 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 and occasionally teleport away and stealth. Revenants just come to you, troll you around, and when you get them to 1% they press their magic button which fully heals them and on top of it they give you chill and run away (trolling level 9000).

Yeah, this is what I don’t like. And it DOES seem that there are just mesmers necros and thieves…. This new HoT crap skills brought so much confusion on the battlefield…When chronomancer and necro pop their AoEs I don’t see kitten and actually it doesn’t matter, because if they pop it, you are insta-dead.

For defenders of this kitten, I have just one message: enjoy your burst psycho play. I’m out, even for dailies.

L2p/unbalance, who cares?..the game is dead anyway.. get over it & go play BnS like everybody else is doing. -Geeeez, dease topics!!!

I’m not sure which class you are playing (warrior?), but here are a few tips that will make your life easier should you chose to return.

1. Revenants: don’t attack revenants that are hibernating, it’s as simple as that. If there are good reapers on your team, they will fear them out if possible, so you can finish them. Otherwise just wait, heal up or prep something. I’m not familiar with other classes that have unblockable cc, but I’m sure there are others. Maybe someone else can fill me in here?

2. Condi reapers. I play this so here’s my go at them. Poke them from range to get rid of the fear from nightmare runes. Many reapers will lead with the chill or the fear mark, dodging this will significantly reduce their options if their life force is low. Avoid stab/resistance when their signets are up. Pop stab when they enter death shroud, they don’t have access to corrupts then. This is also a good time to pop invuln/ resistance when you decide that you want to facetank them. If not available, you’ll need to kite/teleport away and attack from range. Also, don’t attack when the spectral armor is up, unless you can lock them out of reaper shroud and finish them. And whatever you do, don’t facetank soul spiral in the poison field from chillblains. This will get you killed in 6 secs.

3. Thieves are vulnerable to chain cc (I know, that’s obvious). Nightmare runes or other cc-ing runes help a lot with the initial burst. If possible, heal when you’re above 50%, not later. A stealthed thief is most probably behind you/at your side to backstab, turn around to face them when you estimate that the time is right. Good thieves will reset the fight before losing, but you should be able to hold the point for some time. In my experience, thieves have a difficult time contesting, so survival rotations are strategically sound. Even if you’re bound to lose the duel, you’ll still contribute to your team.
