i just queued with 1 other person, so we could try to duo queue.. other party member gets a queue pop and gets into match, i in the other hand get no queue pop, and it tells me that i am still in matchmaking queue, has this happened to many others? i dont see any topics in forums on exactly this

There is an issue of leaving Q and it still pops. If he left Q to invite you then Re-Qed, it is possible his first Q still popped. Since you were not with him for the first Q, he will go alone.

no, this was only 1 queue. there was no re-queueing

You are sure he wasn’t Q’ed before you partied up with him? You asked him this?
