People focusing the treb instead of it's defender
Proposed solution: give treb an extreme hp/toughness boost when friendly player is near it, forcing the enemy team to actually get the player(s) down before attacking the treb.
When no friendly players around, make treb very fragile.
No.
That tactic is both risky and fair on a single-battle-basis, although I do find myself hating how the trebuchet can’t be repaired and the 2nd time the same tactic is used, it’s gone for sure. It’s not just guardians that do this; Pistol Whip thieves are great at teleporting in, hitting as long as they have health for it and stealthing+teleporting away to regenerate and spend a moment assisting at a point.
it’s a legitimate tatic. The treb, after all, is the higher value target in that situation.
Anyone else finds it ridiculous that some profs ignore the treb defender, focus on treb and manage to destroy it before getting killed by treb defender?
These situations are really bizarre for competitive PvP (player vs player) game.
You see a player hitting a treb with his PVE rotation while the other guy is doing his PvE rotation on him.Proposed solution: give treb an extreme hp/toughness boost when friendly player is near it, forcing the enemy team to actually get the player(s) down before attacking the treb.

No…it’s no ridicolous..it’s way easier and faster to destroy enemy trebuchet rather than trying to kill the mesmer which defend it, because by the time you may manage to down the mesmer, half of his team will be on you
Arhe.. true story
Funny seeing someone rage about being ignored. Personally its easier to just kill the treb and ignore the person their then dance for 2 minutes and then destroy the treb.
its a tactic.. based on decision.. as a treb defender i hate elementalist doing this.. but its up to me to sort it out. I do have tools.. i just need to use them or call for help.. in fact its also your team who needs to let you know in advance !
Ele’s doing this makes me raaaaaaaaaage. lol
If you have a problem with this, just have someone on your team do the same thing.
But this is PvP, not PvStructures no?
It’s acceptable for WvW, but for sPvP? Looks so stupid for competitive environment.
I want to fight the guy 1v1, if he is better, fine, he can take my treb, but like this?
You are gonna hit the treb and I’m gonna hit you, you will destroy my treb and just walk away as “a better and more useful one” because you destroyed a dummy? In a competitive PvP environment? Come on…
Also, this is the last map of tourneys, that means things like these will decide who is gonna with the tourney, meh.

Stop them/prevent them/kill them before they destroy the treb. They’re focusing all their damage on the treb while you’re doing the same on them.
heh thats the name of the game in objective based pvp. It might sting a little but in the end it’s about who’s the last one standing on the ‘hill’, so to speak, rather than the one who has the most skulls decorating his belt.
Would be nice to get a few death match types in tpvp.

It’s a matter of how valuable the target is. The treb is a high-value target, you need to get it killed. So it’s better to ensure it gets killed and die than try to take out the defender and then kill it, as you then run the risk of not killing it at all if you lose. It’s a very simple cost-benefit analysis.

But do you realize that some profs can destroy the treb before being killed by the player because of their defensive capabilities?
I noticed this is mostly the case with support eles, guardians and pistol whip thiefs. There are probably more profs capable of doing this.
The treb is simply too fragile and enables this to happen.

Then you ask for help, what do you want?
Guys here told you treb worths more then 1 kill, pls learn something about PvP in this game and how treb is strong on that map, thank you!
Not our problem you are going just for kills, kitten mind-closed “pvp gamers”.
Game is about getting to 500 not about getting kills!
This is a bad idea. This promotes the employment of even more bunker blasphemy on Kyhlo. After they handle being able to carry repair kit through portal it’ll go back to an extreme bunker being on treb like before. Do you really want a guardian with all the knockback in the world on the treb? If you raise it’s toughness and hp drastically when he’s around then WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO DO? You cannot kill him without help and he can survive you until his help arrives if he can hold his own weight.
Tired of all you kittens kittening up this forum with your kitten.
The OP is like “Stop being smart and tactical!!! Be dumb and fight me first!!!”
Stunned Girls Can’t Say No <Hawt>
It is really just staff ele’s that cause this issue as they can be so tanky there is no chance of taking them down before they destroy the treb. Sadly best counter play is just to leave when one shows up or commit a large portion of your team just to keep your treb up.
You can always not use your treb at the start at all. Just send one of your guy to kill their treb and split your other 4 guys between points. So while their 2 guys are on their treb and your treb, rest of your team can 4v3.
