People offering gold to AFK
Let me get this straight… you wanted to rigg the system, failed and now it is rigged against you?
Complaining about people doing smth that you do?
No, that’s not it.
Some guy in my team made the offer—the thought had never occurred to me actually—so I added to his offer, on that occasion.
People were joking, “I’m a Guardian, I don’t take bribes”.
Anyway, my point here being that this PvP experience is so bad that people are offering bribes.
People are starting to offer payments of gold for their opponents to AFK and throw the match. It’s that bad. It’s that desperate.
Last match in a would-be 3-win-streak to hit next tier, some guy was begging the other team. …and I thought, why not offer the same, as I was also in the same position. So I did, they didn’t accept, and we lost.
I hate this new system, it’s rigged.
is this a troll post or someone admitting of violating eula agreement. thats manipulating matches and considered as bannable offence.
Black Gate
Ruthless Legend
I’ve seen ppl offering bribes for the enemy team (4~5 times so long, just one during season 2) and Im confident that most of them were more of a joke or a way to make fun of a loss streak than anything else.

you get banned for rigging a match? yet the matchmaking is rigged to begin with.. I guess Anet needs a good banning atm.
Lol, you guys act like this is something new. It was happening last season too.
People will be people, man, if there’s a way to cheat the system, someone will find it and try to exploit it XD.
I’ve seen this happen. Also I’ve been offered gold to desert so the loss wouldn’t cost pips. That’s what the system has lead to this season. That and the culture of exploiting to the max that has been fostered in the game.
This is a situation Anet has entirely created by its refusal to acknowledge or deal with a problem that has been raised in dozens and dozens of threads.
Had they dealt with this when the problem of pleyers afk’ing first manifested itself early last season, it wouldn’t be a problem now.

If I did this, can I get in trouble? I don’t have much gold since I don’t play often.
Some matches are more rigged than you’d want to believe. If my windows 10 would still allow me to use fraps, I’d have a couple videos to show that you wouldn’t believe.
I can’t possibly imagine this working out the way they’d want it to.
“Hey, I’ll send you guys each 5 gold if you throw the match for us.”
“…ok, deal.”
>proceeds to win match anyway
What are they going to do, report you for scamming them?
It wouldn’t work anyway. Say somebody offered you gold to go AFK, they send it before the match begins, you play to win. Think they’re going to report you? What can they say, “I paid a player to throw the match and they didn’t.” Could argue that they shouldn’t have taken the gold but still, could possibly say the person who offered deserved to lose the gold for trying to cheat. That could be their fine.
Other way round, offer to send the gold after the match to if you go AFK during it. Offer the gold, win the match because the other team only has 4 active players against your 5. Don’t send the AFKer the gold, think he’s going to report you? “I was offered gold to go AFK, I did and after the match they didn’t send it.” I’d feel more sorry for the 4 who had to play without a 5th member than the guy who didn’t get his gold.
That’s why I can’t see it working. Making a deal to cheat/rig a match, after one side is fulfilled there won’t really be any repercussion if the other person welches.
Team members would probably report if they knew it was going on.
I was offered 20 g to lose a match. I didn’t take it. However, another player on my team about 2 mins in basically went afk, running in circles in far corner of map. Obviously, that person took the bait. I reported them both. I certainly hope Anet, at a minimum, banned the guy who offered me the gold to quit.

20g is a lot to for 1 win. You only get 30s for a win, I suppose if you are at the end of the division 1 pip away you get a few gold for winning. You get your reward track whatever part of it reward but you would be lucky if the box contained 1g worth of stuff most of the time.
Though as I said, the guy in your team might not have got the gold. He can’t exactly do much if after throwing the match the other person refuses to pay up. They deserved to be reported(I’ve never seen players offer gold to go afk before, what would it come under? Scamming?) for that type of thing but I’m not sure if they deserve to be banned, warned or maybe barred from playing ranked for the season.
