Two posts by Cleary on the subject. I can’t really express what an absolute joke this is in regards to not only breaking TOS and getting away with it, but damaging the already strung out and warped concept of GW2 sportsmanship. I’d elaborate more, but the thread is already filled with enough rebuttal.

This is an embarrassment. If Anet won’t enforce their own rulings, the result is not only undermining the integrity of the AT system they worked hard to implement, but also a breakdown of trust between the pvp community and Anet. Trust which Anet was just starting to earn back.

Hahaha anet aye they should have removed their accounts from. Gw2 and banned ips but they did the slap on the wrist like as usual for PvP. There are bots in ranked and “banned” players back at it. Just another day in gw2 “competitive” “ranked” games. Just join m in unranked where the good people are and let ranked die till they make it playable for everyone and not half but it. I’ll stick to stronghold where its enjoyable to play. If your not a rewards Hunter but are here for PvP sadly unranked is where you should be now. Bots, banned players, and toxic players swim around in ranked.

Dear Anet I will pay 2,000 gems if you add in any form of TDM to ranked or even just simple que. 1v1 2v2 3v3 4v4 5v5 10v10. Anything but what you have going now.

Devs are too close to the players. I was surprised any action was taken to begin with. ToS is irrelevant, heard it here first.

Where they banned or permanently dishonoured? Those are not the same thing.

This does not make any sense. I thought their mains and alt accounts were dishonored and banned from all future seasons

tl-dr: you can undermine any tournament you like, so you can make a smurf account, mess around in a tournament, throw games, insult people…whatever you want. And they cant touch your main account.

Get to it everyone. The precedent has been set. You are all free to make smurfs and troll safe in the knowledge anet wont do anything but ban that account

So Anet, should we just disregard all your rules now or do we have to win pro leagues first before you’ll let us walk all over you?

If that was the case from the get go, IDK why they even bothered to slap on permanent dishonor on the accounts. When someone says oh but they’ve been permanently dishonored on their main account, that’s equal to a ban! That’s a bull argument, since the point of dishonored is to stop said player from playing. Though those same players are playing still by hopping on new accounts to play. Meaning the permanent dishonor punishment does absolutely nothing, except throws a hurdle in offending players way, basically saying hey you can’t play on this account but you can play on another one. Though whatever, get to playing in tournaments people, because the message is really clear here. Get to the top and you’re untouchable from any real consequence even breaking the ToS.

Why people still crying? If you lost just get good. Val and jeffi are still crying because they lost and probably going to try to get them ban, look for excuses, so on.

I don’t even play in AT and this doesn’t make me want to either. It has more to do with integrity of the game than saltiness. Anet should just allow people to buy from gold sellers if a slap on the wrist is all you get.

get over it man there shouldn’t have even been any bans on the pro players they weren’t paying 400$ a title and who would turn that money down to play a video game

I cant decide who looks the worst in all this, the dishonoured players or Anet… It’s a close one.

We got lawyered guys. A-net didn’t went back on their word. they just convienantly left out that they could still buy new alts and that only thier main and current alts would be banned/perma dishonored.

Bassically it was just a slap on the wrist. And just really a show.

The two messages given work together just fine. They are not permitted to play in ranked during seasons, but they may play anywhere else. What’s wrong with that? The rule they broke doesn’t actually ruin the game for anyone outside of a competitive environment.

Except they are playing ranked during seasons on new accounts. (And there is no “selective” dishonor, its wording is as such they they cannot pvp at all.)

Your more likely to get permanent bans by saying the wrong thing on the forums than you are actually cheating in the game. There are some really messed up priorities going on at anet.
