Pets Body Blocking
Ranger Spirits are the biggest offender here. The models are large, and they always encircle the ranger. This causes the Ranger to benefit from constant cover that is both passive and mobile.
Some Necromancers, and Mesmers have the same benefit, but at least their pets and illusions/phantasms attack things and move around. The Spirits are large and body block many ranged attacks and never leave the ranger’s side.
Yeah, their summons mitigate aoe and act as defense orbs running around you. What I’d give for my spirit weapons to keep up with my speed.

I don’t see the issue here. One benefit of running a pet heavy build is the additional cover pets offer. This is working as intended and piercing counters it.
so are you saying its fair that a single class can run around with 5 pets when most if not all skills are limited by a 5 target limit ? pet who not only provide powerful effects, but also gain the benefits from boons
Was under the impression aoe prioritized what it hits. So if you have a spirit ranger and then 3 other people together that get hit with an aoe then all the players get hit, the ranger’s pet gets hit and the spirits do not. So it prioritizes: Player > Ranger Pet > Minions. I believe this was said back when aoe was reduced to hit 5 targets. I may be wrong though.
Am I good?… I’m good.

Do you remember how the AoE limit came about? No, I don’t think the limit is okay and I’d like to see it removed personally but it’s important to remember what caused it.
Players still whinge about AoEs and ironically enough you’re now whinging about a hard counter to said AoEs.

No it’s not fair. Everyone knows that, except people abusing these builds.

heals/boons etc are prioritized on party memebers over pets, but dmg is divided “Evenly”

so you’re saying that instead of dealing with AoE in a proper way we should cover up the problem by bringing more pets and turning PvP into PvE. mobs might as well start dropping loot at this points…
the way pets are right now are too visually cluttering for both the player and the viewer. making things messy and confusing

Target a Ranger while his pet is running around with mouse clicking give him 2s of free attack on you. Losing target and re-target him give another 2s of free hit on you. Boom, he stealth and you have to do it again. Raise and repeat.. That is a VERY BIG problem here.
