Place your PvP rank in SPvP Forum
All aboard the kitten thread, choo choo…
Rank only tells how much you played this game, not how good you are. Playing zergfest hot join PvP gives you more rank points than winning tournaments.

How about you validate them by the quality of their post?
i would listen to some champion [class] or some champion brawler before asking to some r40-80
mmmk seems like no1 likes the idea.

Rank is just an indication that you’re playing PvP. It tells you your experience but it is not an indicator that YOU’VE TEAMED UP WITH COMPETENT PEOPLE. But rank is not bad at all. It’s like the PVP version of LEVEL.
And for me, I admire builders and theorycrafter more than players. There are superb builders who are average on playing and there are just players who play a build handed to them and do it superbly. Sure there are also people who are skilled in both realms.
Anyway, I’m rank 17 and I will farm more in 8?8 hotjoin. Bystating this, I would expect that you would ignore what I said. I don’t give a kitten anyway.
Rank says nothing. Maybe if you’re max rank it might say something.
I’m not that highly rated because I play quite a bit of PvE as well. That said I run a 60% win ratio in solo tourneys and 90% of the time when I get out of the first round I win the whole thing, is a lot more common after a slight build tweak.
I also find that even when I meet other people of my profession they are just unable to stand up against me. Whether they are bad, I am good or my build is just better I don’t know.
Tarisuca is right, Rank doesn’t tell you a whole lot. It could just be telling us how much someone plays; someone who has lots of time but isn’t very good could be a lot higher Rank than a player who’s decent, but doesn’t play as much/have as much time to spare.
Besides, with people farming points, Rank doesn’t signify anything anyway, he could easily be an R40 noob.
While rank doesnt correlate to skill. A higher ranked person would atleast HOPEFULLY signify they have a general idea of whats going on in pvp.

You would HOPE so, but I’m beginning to wonder. I’ve had players much higher than me in Rank waving it around in matches, wanting to use it as clout to call everyone else noobs/order the rest of the team around but really didn’t seem to know WTH they’re doing.
The other team was just straight zerging in groups on the LoF map & he wanted me to stay there (SOLO) & “defend the point”. I’m pretty decent, but I ain’t gonna be able to fight off 3-5+ people who didn’t just suck, which they didn’t. We won anyway, but everything he told us to do/did was dumb, & he was more than twice my Rank.
Also, entered a hot-join sPvP match yesterday after work & found out that most players on both teams were from the same Guild, a couple capped all the points, the rest just stood in the middle of the map randomly beating on each other. They’re getting points but they’re probably not learning very much like that.

Right? Since when did someone have to be an “expert” to make a good point.
If you want to attribute any score to someone’s post, you should ask for number of tPVP matches won. Glory rank in GW2 has as much to do with skill as vanilla PVP ranks had to do with skill (hint: it was just a measurement of grinding pvp, not skill).
I smashed this ranger once who kept spamming in chat [7 dolyak banners] or what ever it is. Everytime I smashed him he cried that hes better becuz dolyak and I was a rabbit.
rank = games played not skill
Rank 1X SneekyTheef (T), Wizzizard (M), Gerdierhn (G)

So in the end of the day, i’m trying to find a way to help put strength behind peoples posts, since it takes 1000+ hours to reach r60+ like some people said you would think said person knows alot about pvp regardless of his skill.
but since more people regard rank as invaluable to thread strength, what would be best to look for.
ps :DangerMonkey.3158: ‘’rank = games played not skill’’
rank= experience imo, you might play with 0 skill but know every twist in traits/skills and pvp tactics.

Or what seems to happen, people play with mediocre skill and have no idea what the other classes can do.

I duno man its easy to try all classes in GW2 unlike other MMOes, people can easily find out lol.

It is, but people don’t. There was someone in another thread demanding nerfs while refusing to play anything but his necro.

Your statement is invalid, not high enough of a ranking to validate that statement…ROFL
4x glad and i think u scrub lolololeehehe.
No, evaluate opinions and thoughts on their own merit, as it should be.
Even if you wanted some sort of measurement system, having a rank based one is utterly stupid since all it takes is time to rank up. You don’t need skill, knowledge, awareness, anything that the PvP community would value, to rank up.
Here, how about this:
Tournament win ratio: 97%
Hundred Blades dodge ratio: 99%
Armageddon pieces salvaged because they look awful: 8/11
