Here’s one best example of how desertion in placement matches doesn’t do any good.

Let’s say Johnny got a new account and he wants to PvP. He starts placement matches with new account which obviously doesn’t have any ranking yet.

So he plays 10 matches and in all 10 he gets desertion.

10 Matches
- 0 Win
- 0 Loss
- 10 Desertion
= Rating progress??

With the fact that Johnny has no previous league ranking, he will most likely be placed in Bronze with 0 rating. Or the minimum which is set by ANet.

Why do you even count desertion matches as a loss? It is a complete nonsense, and it messes up placement games.

Someone can have 7 wins and 3 desertions, and he will lose the chance to get the placement score of 10:0 just because he already played 10 games (from which 3 ended with desortion).

Please give me your explanation of that.

Is it really that hard to understand that desertions don’t count as losses? If you won 7 games and have 3 desertion games you’re placement games technically aren’t 7-3 but 7-0 it’s like you only had 7 placement games. Obviously it will show you a ‘loss’ but you didn’t lose any placement rating don’t you get it…
Furthermore if ‘Johnny’ a new player gets to pvp the division he belongs to is bronze and nothing else. Do you think a brand new player who doesn’t know anything about the game is supposed to be higher placed lol? Doesn’t matter what his placement games were like…

All new accounts start with A default rating of 1200 which places them right under Gold so in your highly hypothetical situation the player will be at 1200 rating and 1 away from Gold division which is above average compared to the spread of players from last season, which most were Silver or below.

And one more time if someone loses because someone Deserts a match as long as they are gone for 2 mins it has zero effect on their placement, since their Rating is unaffected soo their placement isn’t affected. It’s not based on how many wins or losses for placement it’s based on the Rating gains and losses due to those placement matches, placement matches have higher volatility than normal matches that is all.

Well, your score will be 7-0, but you will also have 10 placement matches already. Therefore you are missing the chance to get 10-0.

What wallhack lmao. He was hacking, and was around me while his character was in base. I have no idea how it showed me his char which was in base.
