Who thought it was a good idea to allow everyone to disappear at will and having to annoyingly re target everything? Allowing these particular people to always have opening strikes and having a huge advantage anytime they want and me having to wait till they reappear to have to re target them over and over every god kitten second?

And that turret doe…

But seriously though, everything that you just mentioned becomes the least of your worries once you pass a certain skill/experience level.
For example, mindlessly spamming stealth at high levels is a complete waste of initiative.

you can still damage them while they are stealthed. Try using a melee attack, or some aoe casts. A lot of times you can down players while they are in stealth trying to avoid damage

Everything seems OP when you first start, because you don’t completely understand how they function and/or how to counter them (hence why there is literally a thread for every class complaining that it’s OP).

If you’re kittened now, just wait until Stronghold comes out. You can’t even cap points in stealth which is the point in the current mode and you see what you got.

the good thing is everyone is on the same footing with gear and skills and you can roll a level 1 and learn to play a new class. figuring out what the classes that bother you do is the best counter, cloaking unless it is to disengage and you recognize the skill can be a tell to when they are going to attack or a bullseye if they use shadow refuge.

When you see posts for nerfing every single class in the game, that’s when you know the game is fairly well balanced. There’re plenty of other games where there’s ONE class to rule them all.

And those expecting PERFECT balance are being unrealistic. No multi-class mmo has ever achieved perfect balance.

Thief can be annoying, but you’ll get the best of them some day.

Try play one and you’ll learn how to beat them pretty hard

so let’s see eveyone is already complaining about it.

I just started…just started… and this is the first thing I noticed right away.

I do more time tab targeting than I do actually attacking anybody. Anytime I’m about to attack, enemy disappears, there’s someone else. “tab target” Oh he’s gone too. Get hit from behind, turn around. tab target WOAH, he’s gone too. tab, tab, tab,

No doubt if I continue playing PvP I’m going to wear down that tab button real quick

It’s not that EVERYONE is complaining about it. It’s that all NEW players complain about it. I know it sounds really abrasive when people say “learn to play” when you are trying to deal with mesmers and theives and you’re still new to the game (or the pvp at least), but that’s really what it comes down to.

When I first started about 2 years ago, I thought exactly the same way and the fact that I was playing double bow ranger really didn’t help since those weapons rely on having someone targeted to be useful. BUT, after some frustration and practice, and grabbing a melee weapon so i could hit things in stealth, thieves are no longer an issue. In fact, they may have been over-nerfed, because, unless they are really pretty good, fights vs. thieves can be the easiest in the game.

Also, the posts saying you should play the class are correct as well. When you lose to people despite stealth, you can see what the people who are beating you are doing to beat you.

P.S. Never mind, other rangers are easiest, then thieves.

oh im sorry i was using a old build no new ranger would use check out Remorseless trait on the ranger with a Soimoth pet ,(if its done well its a very good CC+damage boost for the team mates) without having to use a spirit , so all in all .

you might of got hit by me using opening strikes twice in a row and rf giving you 25vun stacks within 8secs so i take it you cleansed too early and still got 15stacks.

the more you know about rangers the better since the classes power is knowledge and skill rather than Big numbers is where its real strenght lays.

Play a few times more and get the hang of it first. Stealth might seem op but in PVP it means they arent capping a point/ stopping you from defending one. Also, AOE here is your friend.

You have to realize that classes with stealth rely on this stealth to keep themselves alive, outside of that, most can be bursted down rather easily if they get caught out. Another thing is, although tab locking onto an opponent is nice, you shouldnt completely rely on it. Learn to free aim your attacks, or if those are targeted, save them for the moments they show an opening and punish them for it.

There are far more annoying things out there in this game than stealth haha.
