Please ANet, do something with glory farmers.
Sounds like solo que of noobs.
Been saying this for a while, more reward emphasis needs to be on winning and less on objectives/kills.

Welcome to GW2. No one wants to defend the nodes, not even that bunker guardian on your team. Why bring a guard in the first place then? It’s a mess sometimes. They need to reward people actually doing the right things to win the game.
Lol you only run into that if you have very low rating I call it hot join hell I was stuck there for a day or two after learning a new class and going on a losing streak while doing so.

Reward = win, if they are doing the right things to win the game..

Many people take this capping culture from hot joins in to tournament play and thats why they lose. I went yesterday from beeing rated around 600. place to 95% during 8-9 games. I lost all of them and almost all was due to very poor defending off points: I played solo q and got matched up with terrible teammates that lacked basic knowlege of tactical play. And many where like R40+. I tryed to explain and give instructions but very few listened.
During 1 game we lost all 3 points and 1 of my team mates was on treb and just randomly fired on points, while another team mate, a ranger with a pig was just running around and looked lost. And all this while the other team had 2 points unprotected. I had also 3 leavers in those 8-9 games. Playing with people that have low rating is a terrible experiance.

sometimes people just farm glory for achievement points by capping points and killing each other on empty map with no intention to actually play :p
i don’t see much point on that though since glory gets you absolutely nothing really.
It’s not only about glory, but about leaderboards too. Many “pro players” say to last player in leaderboard “[xxx] you’re noob”. Why? Because he is last. For player like me, it’s sad that this “pro player” was first to blame but last to explain.
And who like to be last? No one. And who like to be first? Everyone. So we have competition in match and competition in our team. It’s ridiculous.
And when I see people running with swiftness to capture point and making dash just before it’ll be our point, I can’t stop laughing.
Just because of human’s ambition, it isn’t strange to me that people try everything to have 10 points more. I just can’t understand how ANet could make system like that.
Why cant we see some other game modes than the single “cap a point and place a bunker on it”. The current setup is unrewarding for any class who not based around stable controll of ground/area.
Just 1 more gamemode would make the classes that today is less interesting (classes who base its survival/combat around mobility) more viable. A capture the flag mode for example. I find the fact a setup of players build tanks who al is based on survive without move out of a ring on the floor or deal dmg to be the most rewarding for a team rather silly.

The win is still not enough of a reward apparently. People should be encouraged to play conquest how it’s supposed to be played, like defending your nodes. It’s still conquest after all. Some new game-modes would really be nice though.

Your not rewarded for defence is nobody attacks…lets say your a bunker…if you stand at a node and nobody wants to attack you…then you gain nothing.
any person with a brain who wants to farm glory goes hotjoin
some people in tournaments are straight out terrible (even when youre in the top 1000 you sometimes get matched with complete kitten who duo cap close and then do boss and kitten like that..)

Conan, the winn in its self is a reward in competitive play and you adwance on leaderbords. Thats the whole point. And it doesnt matter how much points you scored, you won. Thats the point of competitive tournament play. Glory points doesnt affect your rank progression.
Yesterday I had a teammate in a fight that was capping the same point as me. When I told him to go and help the others (since I was protecting that point)he answered he needed points for he`s daily achivement. That argument was the final nail in the coffin for me and sums up GW2 PvP.
I hope ArenaNet reads this.

It’s sad, but I don’t think so
