Please! Fight on nodes and Please Tag targets
Let’s put some perspective to this to make it clearer.
A node rewards 1 point for every 2 seconds.
Suppose we fight off the node for 30 seconds before moving to the node.
That is only worth 15 points. However, if we secure the map in those 30 seconds better by say fighting in the doorway choke point or fighting at the bottom of keep, then the kills we pick up will balance the 15 points lost in the 30 seconds.
TLDR fight off node has some advantage in this burst meta. nodes lead to blanket cast skills
The problem is that your scenario is the exception. Most players can recognize when the exception applies and see posts like yours and think it’s ok to fight off nodes all the time.
It’s the same with stomping. They’d rather let 3 opponents rally because someone said you should cleave in certain situations. Now all they do is cleave. I’ve seen this happen many times.

I’m pretty sure its better to fight of node if you can’t safely get to the node. It doesn’t help that I run to the node but by the time I get there I’m down to 30-40% of my hp and just die on the node right? I’m pretty sure that’s what you call feeding and no one likes a feeder.
I’ll fight off point and try to push the fight to the node, if I can. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I’m just pretty sure that it’s better than feeding.
@Interpret that’s if u can kill a target in 30 sec engi, necro, druid and ele are more than able to sustain burst 2v1 situations at least but i agree it has its advantage

I would also like to add: you have thief on your team and he is nearby when you go down? DO NOT ATTACK!!!!!! Chances are, this thief will stealth you and try to get you up.
I personally run rez trait and refuge and try to save them for rezzes. Most of the people just spam attack in downed state, berak stealth and get stomped where i had actually really good chance to rez them and even asked them not to spam attack in downed state.

I have more problem with players tunneling visioning onto the node alone!
Players do need to go off node when receiving too much pressure, you only need 1 player on node to contest it. Some builds lack sustain on point and are better applying range pressure. Sometimes players get ganked midway when rotating. The ganker is usually revenant or thief. It is very hard to disengage them if you just run in a straight line towards the node. You might as well be dead if you do that.
I remember there was one game I had a teammate being downed by two ppl just off the node. Both me and another engi are close to the node. It is much better for us to revive the downstate teammate(engi excels at that!) and create a 3v2 favorable position. However, the engi decided to capture the node instead. I was very surprised that he didn’t come rez and had to give up rezzing myself. We gave up a much better position because this engi pigeon holed himself into a node only nothing else mentality.
Also,if you see AoE heavy classes at the point,don’t run like
huurduur in the middle of it and die like a chicken.
