Please Stop Putting Trebs on Good Maps...
So you want to force teams to run necroes, thieves, and mesmers just so they can boon rip those who are channeling the mist essence? The other profs need treb to rip stab in these scenarios.
It would be nice if the players had to revive the treb in someway (like on kyhlo), I agree. Spawning after a few minutes makes it seem like killing the treb is not rewarding.
Am I good?… I’m good.
Just make it cost supply to repair, takes 4 (2 full trips) or a repair kit spawns by your keep lord or something.
Second to that, scrap the map and just add 2v2 and 3v3 arena mode.
Yeah, they should totally scrap a game mode and map that people enjoy. Maybe they can refund the man hours and purchases those super cool 2v2 and 3v3 maps. Seems legit.
Your first suggestion wasn’t bad though. Just want to point out how moronic your second one was. Cause you know? Why not?

how about attacking some one interrupts there charging for both supply and mist essence that way people have to kill each other to get some where? more fights. and then we can remove the treb
The whole stability channel thing needs to go. Trying to make the treb a counter for it was a poor design choice.

They chose not to put in a mode much of the community would have rather had, work on their leader-boards, class balance, add dueling to the mists or anywhere for that matter. So many other things they could have spent their time on instead of throwing it on a map most spvp players don’t want. The entire game is just a rush down your lane. its a pve map in spvp. Not only that but with this map comes pay to win pvp options (have to have HOT to select mist champions) it’s everything in the wrong direction they put their man hours towards, so yes I think scrapping it or just leaving it as is and moving on is the best decision they could make for the PvP community. Attacking my character and calling my words “moronic” wont change the fact that Anet made the wrong choice in focus for the betterment of the spvp game in GW2. They took yet another gamble in spvp to try something new instead of just making improvements that would have improved the spvp scene 100% chance.

Lmao I spy a fanboy.
How about they actually work on things pvpers want? Incredibly new idea, I know. He pointed out, through sarcasm, that Anet doesn’t seem to understand its pvp players, so it would seem that actually your post was moronic and unproductive – commenting on something you didn’t understand is pretty moronic and name calling is pretty unproductive.

You mean what you and a small but vocal minority want?
Stronghold may not be appealing to veteran PvPers. However, the veteran PvPers should recognize that it has wide appeal to casual PvPers. In order for GW2 PvP to succeed overall, it needs to grow the player base, which includes both casual and veteran PvPers. If the PvP playerbase grows, it will get more developer resources devoted to it.

I don’t think you understand sarcasm. How does saying, “scrap it and replace it with 2v2/3v3” qualify as sarcasm? Don’t think you know what you’re talking about. Fanboy? Not really. I just think it was kittening stupid to suggest deleted a game mode that many players, as a whole, appear to enjoy.
Also 2v2 / 3v3 with out the trinity wouldn’t be all that entertaining. It would turn into one of two things.
1: who ganks from stealth first
2: who can build the most unkillable build.
Yeah I’d totally wait in a queue for either a 1 minute burst off or a 15 minute bunk off.
Casual and competitive pvpers would return and new would as well if they implemented working ranking and competitive rewards to pvp. Stronghold is a gimic that will fall off just like conquest did after release. That playerbase that is needed all left over the last 3 years because they never gave a working pvp system, or balanced at a respectable rate. A huge number of those leavers requested ranked arena, I hate to break it to you but that’s what competitive pvp is in MMOs. You dont need a trinity for it it will allow for new builds not nessesaraly used in conquest. And the funny thing is adding arena is much less work than stronghold…
i can only think of one MMORPG that has a large competitive/viewer based PvP scene. Every thing else is a completely different style game, like MOBAs. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but which MMORPGs, other than WoW, are really that much more successful than GW2?
the devs can’t help ordering cheese with their map.
just look at Suckhammer ‘ahem’ Skyhammer with the insta kill KBs and the giant previously undodgeable oneshot cannon…
the reason Foefire and Forest are so popular is because they have very little cheese.
but for some reason the devs can’t seem to help themselves!…
I find it quite fun watching a whole team die from the treb. If you are dumb enough to stay in one spot to get hit by it, over and over and over. It’s your own fault. I got called a noob and cheap for trebing the whole enemy team while they where at out gate with door beakers. Me the treb and one other guy held them for the whole game.
It’s quite simple folks L2P. I hate stealth. Don’t see me asking it to be taken out of the game.

I’m not an expert in all things MMO but you can go search any mmo and they all have arena modes in this day and age that is the large portion of pvp in these games. And GW2 wasn’t successful at all in terms of keeping players interested. Now their marketing was top tier and still is, and that sold their game but they couldn’t hold promises they made (but it didnt matter to them cause it was a 1 time payment), and completely let go of spvp after claiming so much about “esports” (because why support something that doesn’t generate revenue)
The thing is about gw2 is the combat is really good. But they completely restrict it to conquest (and pvp in general) to a 5v5 team format which is hard to upkeep and coordinate. 2v2 and 3v3 leagues allow teams to find each other much more easily and the gameplay promotes team improvement. In an arena you can see your allies and what they are doing you can help each other improve post game. Teams become known and you have team mmr which places you against other great teams. In conquest you cant do that. Holding together a team of 5 of the correct classes is exponentially more difficult per player over smaller team sizes, which make the competitive scene a much smaller player-base and this isnt even considering trying to get all 5 of you players online at the same time. You don’t know who’s at each point or what each player is up against at a given time. There’s also no replay function so you cant improve that way and re-watch your conquest games.
For spvp to grow and HOLD in gw2 they need to promote gameplay that is wanted, not a facade that is stronghold. It solves none of the issues that currently exist and pvp and will only bring MORE problems. It’s also less enjoyable than conquest with the current state it’s in (when you get over the new and shiny factor) and will have less longevity because of it.
The bottom line is we need modes with smaller team sizes and a working VISABLE ranking system. That’s what pvp has been asking for and instead they have thrown maps like capricorn, skyhammer, courtyard (would be fine with a seperate queue and smaller team size), sprit watch (could have been good if they made it pure ctf) and now stronghold. none of these have addressed the player size issue or ranking system.

stealth is a class mechanic,
clicking 2 to AoE down the entire enemy team from 3000 is not.
it’s just something that ruins otherwise fun maps.
Yeah, I really hate trebs and the hammer (in skyhammer) as well. Love the rest of the stronghold map though.
Nothing is fun about getting trebbed from across the map. Please stop giving mechanics for players to never have to play their class and just sit across the map playing some silly timing mini game while other people are trying to have fun playing the actual game…
At the very least for strong hold make the thing take 2 or so players worth of supply so killing the kitten ed thing means something, instead of it just re-spawning 2 minutes later…
So? just take the treb out…. I don’t see the problem…. A Staff-Ele will take care of the treb in a few seconds while sustaining himself easily against the person thats using the treb.
Also, a treb gives options to play around certain very strong build that are very tanky and/or have perma-stability when channelling and it’s a necessary defenders advantage in the still very offensively oriented game-mode.

It is different genre, but EVE is pretty much only about PvP and quite popular.

DAOC as well as GW1 in terms of pvp
All we wanted was a GvG.
2v2 and 3v3 modes sounds asinine…. 3 mesmers vs 3 mesmers yay!
If there was not a treb on the Stronghold map, you would never be able to knock off a stability pulsing player from the Mist Champions.
You would also not be able to stop full five person pushes on Stronghold which mess up the whole balance of the map.
Nor could you stop a group from camping the supplies.
The treb is a necessity and I have felt its pain as well as delivered its pain.
