Please can we have a payload mode?
Ok, I’ll bite. What’s a “payload mode?”
This is from the overwatch wiki. They call it Escort.
“Escort has two teams, the attacking team and the defending team. Each team is assigned one of the roles at random at the start of the match, and once the round is complete, the two teams swap roles.
At the start of each round, the defending team get some time to enter the main area and set up defenses before the attacking team are allowed out of their spawn area.
The central mechanic of Escort is a special object (the payload) which the attacking team aims to progress across the map toward an end point. This is achieved through keeping attacking heroes within range of the payload."
I enjoy it a fair amount. That is the central mechanic. There are other important details on how the matches play out such as reaching checkpoints being a part of your score.
I like how their map design lets players go through the map from one end to another. It feels like smart map design in their case as you play through it which is nice.
Other maps are similar with the attacking team capturing point A (if able) then moving to point B. Both types use many different types of heroes (classes) that promote several types of play throughout the game.

Jokes aside, but this could actually work. Overwatch’s Payload is well-done escort mode – You can’t harm the escorted thing nor heal it/affect in any way, it moves on pre-set line, it’s extremaly simple and provides “action point”.

Right? Its such a simple concept that anyone can pick it up and learn it quickly. Its not as difficult as GW2 to know what is happening if you have never played before. That Twitch view count is off the charts for how long the game has been out. Its crazy how its maintaining popularity.
Its a simple game mode but there are a ton of little things to learn. It has a low skill floor but a high skill ceiling and I love that. If GW2 pvp could get that popular by having fun modes to play I would be so happy.

It’ll be a lot more difficult to implement in GW2 because it’s not a moba. That said it’s still possible. It’s whether or not Anet wants to undertake the workload for another gamemode.
I rather have a best of 3 TDM of 2v2 or 3v3. Time limit 5m per round while measuring the lowest health amongst players to determine the round’s victory. #winning

I agree completely. Arena 2v2 and 3v3s should have been in the game a long time ago. More game types. Thats all I want.
