I’m praying to whatever god you could think of that my pessimism is wrong but judging by the wording of the march patch notes it kind of seems that the leaderboards will show glory rank.

However, the leaderboards website won’t be visible to players until we’re sure it has stable information, which could take up to a week after the release goes live on March 26. Initially, the leaderboards will feature WvW rankings, PvP player rankings, and total achievement points

Am I incorrect?

Please tell me that I am.

If that’s true at least get to find out who the biggest nerd basement dwelling no lifer with one millionglory points who that person is. I don’t think I would be very proud to be on the top of the leader boards if that was the case. I would be quite embarrassed.

I’m hoping that by “pvp player rankings” it means our hidden matchmaking rank position (not the rating number ofc), if not it would be the most epic fail after the release of swtor XD

Pretty sure it’s your ranking relative to other players using your hidden MMR.

Not even arena net is silly enough to implement rankings based on glory rank.

SWTOR was rubbish, has no cross server functionality and probably still has more people doing ranked warzones then GW2 has doing PvP all together.

In fact, the pvp population of one swtor server probably outnumbers the sPvP population, let alone the tPvP population.

well, there are probably more players in Tier 1 WvW servers alone than pvp players in swtor, so I guess it’s fair.

Normally, I would completely agree. I do, however, have a counterpoint.

This is the same company as the guys who said ‘’this blog post should be out in the next few days’’ on a blogpost that came out around a month later after that.

It’s the guys who are incapable of creating a simple map generator

English is pretty clear, no mention of glory and it was also cleared up in SOTG by the dev’s, not once but twice.

i just watched the SOTG again to be clear about the leaderbords and they explained it very clear not once but twice so now i understand for sure.

So to be crystal, how many times was it cleared up in the SOTG?

haha, they nerfed ele healing by as much as 50% so its not a problem anymore apparently. Also minion master necro is now a world class build AND…..(dramatic drum roll) pets now have agony resistance

In seriousness the sotg was ok. They had a bit of trouble I think the devs but generally they all came across as nice guys who are committed to their work.

Yes please! Also fix that bug where queuing for a tPvP game queues you for both sides, ending up 4v5.

Rating will not mean anything until premade and pug are seperate.
I cannot remember the last time I pug’d and didn’t face at least 3 people pre grouped.

Its also SUPER fun when you get matched with a few mid 30’s (im only mid 30 so this isn’t the issue), and then a few 1-9’s, against 40’s-50’s.

I don’t really see why anyone would be upset at a rankings reset. I mean it doesn’t take long to stabilize you where you should be. Its like being upset at the start of a season where you have to start at the mean again. In all honesty though if they start doing actual seasons it should begind with a reset, just saying

I think a solution would be to maintain the current ladder till the end of april and then reset it. This would allow them to do even more testing and would mean people’s current efforts aren’t wasted. But would still ensure a new season can start afresh. I think they need to do seasons when the ladder comes. Like 2 monthes per season or it will just get dull.
