Also a couple of PuG games bring in people that just expect to be carried and have a poor attitude. It’s clear they are just their for dailies and have no interest in their profession.

There’s already quite a few threads about that. Research has shown that the profession dailies are not based on rng, but fixed, as they repeat exactly the same way every month. Also, Mesmer and Necromancer are indeed super-rare. Other professions have dailies 2-4 times more often.

- I used to occasionally, I don’t anymore.
- N/A; I want to get better at my class, which is best accomplished by playing that class. My knowledge of other classes is good enough that it isn’t a priority so I’m not going to spend time working on it.
- Daily Map Winner (from ranked pool) with 2 options, too many people vote Legacy right now. Don’t know if people would quit/afk if they don’t get a map they need, but it’s not like they can queue during the match for a different one.

- I main a mesmer and rather disappointed that it hardly appears in the daily. When I play the daily class, I swap often to NOT stack class (or a counter to the daily class) than to get the daily AP done.
- Encourage to try other classes is nice, even encouraged me to unlock more char slots for PvP specific chars. However having PvP bombarded with profession stacking during a match is not. The matchmaking system isn’t perfect and doesn’t help when it’s forced to sort 20 ranger queuing into matches.
- It could be really simple change. “Win 2 rated matches.” Practice/Custom arena wins would be automatically excluded, similar to the Champion title achievement. Winning 2 instead of 1 also keeps players PvPing for slight effort than luck. It worked for the Dragonball daily, and doesn’t restrict players to a specific role.
I’ve already noticed 2months after the dailies were restructured that it followed a fixed pattern and certain classes appear more often than others. Now that people recorded it down reinforces that.

I think it may up to the individual player to choose his class, as the number of level 2’s is indicitave of people having to roll another toon to just do the daily. This means that if they don’t have the class tomorrow, they will re-roll and delete other toon as they may not be able to buy spare slots for new toons. I have no problem with the levels due to the way the system works, but I would like to see rewards for capturing, holding etc on any class, and to make it fair, rewards for winning 2 matches, no classes set
+1 I do not think that is best idea to get as playing other classes. Maybe make rating based around char not account or group them in few classes so you can choose more then 1-2.

I would not disable them.
I would change them them like this:
- Stop giving the same professions to everyone. Give instead these two different ones:
- The “Daily <profession> Winner” will be picked randomly and individually for each player. This would pick only between the 5 most played professions. So if you have 5 characters and could never play 3 of the professions, you’ll never get those.
- The other one will be called “Daily Road Less Traveled (<Profession>)” instead “Daily <profession> Winner”, and will be for the profession less played by the account. If two or more professions are the less played, the one not played since the longest time will be picked. If the time is the same, a random one is picked.
This means that if any professions were never played, those would always end up picked for this, and since professions not played will have the same time since the last time they were played, a random one among those will be picked.
This way the first achievement makes you switch between what you have available to shake things up, while the one tempts you to try what you don’t try often.
- Make it so you need 3 points to complete each one. A win gives 3 points. A loss gives 1 point. So you can either win 1 match or participate in 3.
This will decrease the “jumping” for wins in hotjoin, as if you leave the matches all the time because you are losing you will be wasting your time since you will be forfeiting one point, rank and PvP reward progress.
Other PvP achievements that can be obtained in hotjoin like Conqueror, Paragon and Magus could be changed in a similar way too. Their point requirements would be multiplied by 3, and a win will give 3 points, and a loss 1 point.
The Champion achievements like Champion Paragon and Champion Brawler would still require wins only, since jumping matches does not happen in structured.

1) Most days I get the daily for the extra rewards.
2) Yes – however if it’s a class I’m not comfortable with, I go to hotjoin for a match or two to get the win so I’m not being a detriment to my team. Unfortunately not everyone else does the same.
3) I don’t have a problem with the daily profession win in-and-of-itself, but of the effect it has on queues and match quality. Last night I queued up on my main (not a class on daily) and was in a match where my team had 2 thieves (on the daily). Neither of these players appeared to have the slightest idea how to play their class. We of course got completely stomped. Maybe they were average players with a class they knew and it would’ve been a good match otherwise, but they just were bad as thieves and we had no chance to win because of it.
So how would I change it?
How about instead of “Win X Daily” it’s “Win X or Y Daily”
So day 1 could be
1) PvP Capture
2) 3 PvP kills
3) Win as a Thief or Mesmer
4) Win as a Guardian or Engineer
day 2
1) PvP Rank points
2) PvP Defender
3) Win as a Engineer or Necro
4) Win as a Warrior or Ranger
and so on. Assuming I remember my Prob/Stat correctly, there’s 70 combinations for 4 out of 8 professions and 630 combinations for 4 out of 9 professions when we get Revenant. So that should give ample variation so that the queues aren’t overwhelmed with 1 or 2 classes and still encourage people to play other classes besides their main.
I think they should just reduce mesmer and necromancer dailies to zero. We have far too many as is. We need more thief and engineer dailies. They should both have dailies for half of the month instead of just a third :^)

This, honestly, is probably the best way to do it. Look at Dragonball. You didn’t have to win to finish the Lunar New Year achievements, merely participate. Those dailies were a lot more important than regular ones, because they gave laurels, but still.

Encouraging people to play another class when they’re trying to master one class is kind of bad on Anet’s part.
The daily should bring back the 3 matches played Daily. It isn’t that hard. Can be done in an hour or so.

On question is it just perception or are some profession on the daily more often than others?
Even the developers have suggested in multiple posts that the daily achievement is terrible and distorts matchmaking in a way that actively makes the game less fun. My guess is the achievement never went through the actual PvP team.
It needs to go.
If this is true why don’t they just disable them entirely? I don’t understand, it ruins the game so much for players that it shouldn’t be something we need to wait for an expansion to fix.
faced 4 guardians the other day, twice, while my team had zero guards and two thieves who kept getting slaughtered. we couldn’t hold a single point.

Why not have professions but instead of having win with x profession have win with any profession 2x or 3×. That way if someone plays main they win 2 or 3 times with that same profession for dailies.

It’s not going to be any better getting people to go kill the beast or use the map’s mechanic assists as players would end up camping that particular area instead of conquest objectives.
How hard is it to just make it win 2 rated matches? This would include all map modes of Stronghold, Conquest and Deathmatch in Unranked. It can’t get farmed in arenas/practice.
Just tossing a couple out there to think about:

I think it should be back to daily kills, daily objective neutralizer, daily objective defender, daily objective assaulter. Any combination of those or randomly those per day.

1) Regularly
2) Initially I enjoyed (when the daily first changed) but now it feels boring because I have a build that works and I just do it for dailies.
3) GREATER FLEXIBILITY. I’ve read some good suggestions here, perhaps a daily that lets u play your main while encouraging u to use other professions.
- Get a victory/3 games with one profession
- Get a victory/3 games with a different profession
I like the idea of playing 3 games that u lose but still get daily. It encourages u to play well while not punishing u excessively for having a bad day.

As for how to improve the dailies… hmmm; what if you make it something like “earn 200 points personal score (with profession x)”. This would actually encourage players to at least go and contribute even if the match might be lost, instead of just afk-ing.

Reviving people in PVP is really hard most of the time and certain classes are really bad at reviving.
The second one would also encourage people to do things that don’t help you win, like doing svanir at start of forest.
Just add “Do 3 PVP matches” and “Win a match”

No, those ideas are not good because the map you get is purely RNG based and what if someone dislikes those maps? Now I’ll be getting them ALL DAY because the daily is a map I dislike.
Stop being creative and just make the PVP dailies as generic and boring as possible.
Win 1 game, play 3 matches, kill(assist or whatever counts) an enemy, gain rank points, complete 1 reward of a reward track. None of those dailies actively encourage you to do things that cause your team to have a lower chance of winning.
Whenever I do WVW I accidently finish 3 of my dailies within like 20 minutes of playing just doing WVW, I never go out of my way to do anything special. This is exactly how sPVP dailies should be.

They can go with the flow in Unranked. Some of us want to get better at the game and play Ranked since we don’t have teams. The dailies produce lopsided matches that don’t really help the victor or loser to understand what they need to work on with 3 or 4 players playing classes they’re not good on.
Can we please get rid of the profession based sPVP dailies and replace them with daily caps or daily kills instead? It really ruins sPVP and comps. No one wants to go up against a team with 2 rangers and 3 engis when you main only 1 class.
I just feel like there are better options for sPVP dailies that don’t completely bork team comps.

That’s exactly accurate, the spvp community would be happier without PVErs in our matches who are just there for an easy/quick daily or people doing things just to complete dailies which don’t actively help their team win. And I’m sure WvW’rs feel the same about PVE/ PVP players going into wvw for a very quick and easy daily. Especially if you’re on a gold, silver or bronze server.
PvE’rs are probably tired of wvwr’s/ and pvp’rs asking kittened questions about boss timers every 2-3 minutes for a daily.
WvW wise, it doesn’t help your server to have pvp’rs/ pve’rs running with out the proper setup to steal a ruin or tower.
PVE wise, im sure no one wants snobby wvw’rs and pvp’rs eating up a slot on their map that they would rather have their friend or guildy be able to join them.

The PvP dailies are necessary to be able to get the 10 achievement points from PvP. Isn’t that completely obvious?
But yes, the point is to make daily achievements as bland as possible. It has to be stuff that literally doesn’t encourage any specific behavior. So goals like playing or winning matches, killing a small amount of players, or getting a reward track award of some sort are fine. Anything more specific is not.

Just have to do 3 PVE/WVW/PVP or mix of them to get it…
To do a pure PvP on what people are purposing alone, you will only have:
Daily PvP Capture
Daily PvP Player Kills

Need at LEAST 1 more added
If it’s games played that’s cool and fine.
But those would be the only 3 every day with no variation, after 48 hours the new complaint hot topic is going to be “anet doesn’t like pvp because we only have 3 dailys”
or “pvp is the step child of the game since wvw and pve have more dailys”
As petty as it sounds i promise you that’s going to be the next complaint.

I don’t know why you keep bringing up capture daily. People in this thread have explicitly said it shouldn’t be a daily because it encourages bad behavior.
The objectives can be any mix of win a match, do two matches, kill three players, do a ranked match, get a reward track reward, and get some rank points. Everything else is bad.

I brought It up since if the suggestion to delete the two daily pvp classes does happen, PvP will only have two dailies.
The point we are getting stuck on is what will replace those two daily spots? PVE has 4, WVW has 4. PvP will be at 2.

-Daily PvP Player Kills
-Daily PvP Capture
-Daily PvP Games Played

I’d imagine anet would want a 4th to round it out with the others.
