Please invest in better servers
You played GW1 before? When yes, had you allrdy lags in it?

Mabye you had problems with A-Net servers before. Otherwise it’s either your internet connection or australia itself (if other australian players have connection-issues too).
Well it’s just latency between myself and the server (which has significantly increased over the last months).
All Australian players will experience a decent amount of lag and I do have one of the best internet services you can get in AUS. I have tested on 3 friends’ computers and on this one in Europe and all experience the same lag.
Yes, this computer isn’t very good and can only just play GW2 but the internet is amazing and should give me a low ping. I tried on the European servers a few minutes ago and ended up with just over 400 ping which is better but still not good.
Guild Wars 1 just had lag due to the connection between me and the servers. But even though it wasn’t ideal it still held below 400 for me usually. Sometimes on American servers I’d even get 200 and currently I get 10-50ms ping on GW1 (because I’m in Europe next to a server) but I still lag in GW2.
This leads me to the conclusion that something else is playing a factor in the lag (not my pc either at home due to it being top of the line).
It’s just so frustrating that I have to find out some other way to beat specific builds because I simply can’t dodge things other people can.

If I remember correctly, it was impossible for a Canadian to have less than 150 ping when playing gvg. Big boys like Jatt even changed providers in order to go from 200-250 to 150-200.
Compare this to HoN where I get sub 150 ping in EU and safely under 100 ping in US.
I fight people, sometimes they kill me, sometimes I kill them. Fun is had by all. [/quote]
Anet servers are powered by hamsters on wheels, don’t you know? ANETcan’t afford faster hamsters when there’s no monthly fee and the stuff in the digital store isn’t a pay2win cash grab like other MMOs.
Bandwidth costs money. If ANET upgraded their servers, they’d go bankrupt and have to shut the whole game down.
From what I`ve read & heard, SamboNZ on youtube & livestreams mentioned it too, most of Australian internet is having huge problems at the minute with some rumours of attacks on the lines etc.
Having said that, Kharr has it spot on. The current hamsters are old & dying from not being fed properly, probably due to them not getting enough money to keep decent internet bandwidth pipelines.
Of course, if they actually had proper armour/weapon etc skins rather then the completely pointless town clothes, perhaps the hamster could have some nitrous ox-seed quality food & things would improve….

Rocking Wizard Wars until this mess of a game is fixed…
australia vs Europe or US will always have unplayable lag for an action game. (Europe vs US as well.)
as someone who plays fighting games, where matches are peer to peer, the harsh reality of the internet is really hammered into you – intercontinental gaming is simply impossible with action games. there are no magical servers that can fix this.
as for an Australian server, are you thinking things through? cross server matches are not supported (and meaningless since you’ll get intercontinental lag anyways) so you’ll only be playing against other Aussies. considering the pvp population at the moment, i doubt thus would be particularly worthwhile.
