Th is what kittenes me off royally… We started the game with our Thief saying “sorry brb” in the countdown 3 seconds before the game started…. so he went on being idle in spawn straight to the point that he got diconnected for inactivity, and then came back about 1 minute later saying that “he had problems” at that point the score was already 60-270, then refused to leave to at least make it up to us so we wouldn’t lose for him, ended up that way of course…. If I remember correctly the DC timer to not lose used to be 2 minutes… that seriously need to include idle time that leads up to said forced disconnect as well, or needs to be lowered considerably… These pointless losses just kitten everyone off

U understand its a game , and something can happen while u playing right?

About the situation to the other team mates , yes its very annoying, cause starting 4vs5 will make the map snowball.
I think to be honest 15 seconds of idle should kick the guy from the game.

First because, probly something happen to him, and second, to alow those 2 minutes of grace period to pass fast.
I also think 1 minute of grace period is more than enough, for some one to reconect.

I do know kitten happens, I am not annoyed for losing the game, I am annoyed for having lost points for a game like that. That’s why I said that the system should be tweaked so that it won’t penalize you for losing in this situation

That’s why we need a voting system. Majority vote to kick player from team results in Dishonor for player and 4v5 scenario ensues.

To address 4v5 I’d suggest a queueing option (check box) for players in queue willing to jump into a 4v5 and fill the roster hole. That player will not run the risk of any rating loss. Essentially a free chance to get a win and help a team in need.

This morning I logged in and tried to queue only for the game to tell me I had to restart because there was an update (bad timing). Updated, got back in and queued. Got a match. Then with all but 1 person ticked to start the client crashes, and the login server goes down.

I don’t know if the game even started but eventually I restart, get connection, and log in. I enter into a match late, 100+ points behind the enemy. We lose (though we could have won) and I get dishonor. So you’re suggesting I should be punished because of Anet’s failings?

Another time a match starts and we’re fighting away at mid. Things are going well when my wife calls out from the other room. I get focused and end up going down. At this point I decide I’ll go respond because I’m fairly certain she wants a bit o some’nsome’n ifyaknowwhatimean;D. Long story short I took dishonor, my team lost nothing because of desertion, and while I took a double hit it was well worth it. Why? Because as someone said, this is a game, and there’s far more important things going on in peoples lives sometimes. You just have to prioritize. One day when you grow up you’ll come to understand that :)

I like your idea though that DC time should include pre-idle time.

This is a thing over in WoW PvP and does not fix the problem you express here.
