I know you guys have a lot of plans, and I know they’ll take time. But if I may, as a relatively new PvPer, I’d really like to see a priority made of addressing the current tendency of players to selfishly leave matches when they see things aren’t going their way. It’s extremely unfair to the other players, and seems to happen at least half the time in the solo queue IME.

Everyone sometimes has to leave in the middle of something, but there should be very strong penalties for those who make a habit of it.

people come and go in a hotjoin games, because that’s what hotjoin games are good for.

but, for solo arena, i think there is not enough information for new players. no “warning” of some sorts.

for example, in counter strike’s classic competitive game mode, the description for it states clearly that games may take up to 90 minutes long and participants are expected to stay throughout the whole match, and there will be penalties for abandoning the match.

we need the same in guild wars 2.

a warning. a clear description.
only participate in solo arena if you have the time to do so.

flexible players who want to leave anytime can participate in the hotjoin servers.

Is that really needed? The hard part is the queue time, but everyone knows that a match can take 15 minutes max because of the timer. If you get to a point where while queuing you may need to go, you leave queue.

I’m talking about people leaving in the middle of matches. In many cases after having been active, meaning they left because they just didn’t want to continue, usually when losing.
