Please roll back patch 50%
“The patch seems to have been a lot more heavy handed than intended.” What exactly do you mean by that?
this thread seems to have been a lot more heavy handed than intended. please roll back this thread 50% across all posts.
head here to discuss wvw without fear of infractions
Agreed. Not taking 3 months of this. Maybe devs will develop a clue by then.
- Release HoT.
- Vault doens’t work right with quickness; make quickness not affect it.
- Wait 1 year
- Make quickness affect Vault.
- Wait 1 day
- Realize you never fixed the original problem and remove quickness from Vault.
This is why we’ll never get a decent balance patch.

They were probably working on new specializations.

If they put as much thought into those new specializations as they do into balance patches, we’re in for a LOT more powercreep.

But I think that’s the whole point!
But at least I admit it!

The ele buffs were essentially them undoing a part of the terrible cooldown nerfs of the past 3 years (starting with the RTL nerf that was a such a disappointment). Next balance patch, in 3 months, they’ll probably undo all the Might nerfs the ele had to take in because of the celestial amulet, since there is no more celestial amulet anyway!
They are just so slow to react and they always have to come back on their track because the balance change they make aren’t the right ones.
Meanwhile ESO gained 1.5 million players in 9 months simply because they keep moving forward instead of running in circles. RvR is striving, they have open world dueling and competitive PvP on the way…
With GW2 we have no clue what’s coming up: The balance team seems worried about DPS meter races and meaningless numbers instead of the gameplay itself. The GvG scene left and the PvP competitive teams are leaving (you can’t even queue up as a team…)

^^ Its a valid point, ESO and GW2 are pretty close, for me GW2 has the better performing wvw and better balancing , but this is swinging and if Zenimax every fix server performance then it comes down to just balancing. If Anet keep making the mistake of prioritizing raid balance over the GW world in general then they are going to lose players over time.
This raises the question, assuming the majority of players do not raid, why the hell is raid balancing taking priority over other game types?

This is the main problem with the profession design (balance) team. There’s no outline of problem areas, targeted areas, etc. when they start an update cycle. Further, they seem to not care or understand how elite specs have ruined gameplay with ridiculous levels of defense and offense in one package.
Heavy handed at what?
Looks at necro…looks at rev …. Gets hit with confusion.
