Please stop putting beta classes in PvP
Yea let’s have a beta test without any testing
Can you not test in unranked?
The title mentions nothing about unranked but i guess if you wanna sorta test something you could . I think the point is to test it completely as most betas are. but if the test is only for certain areas i guess they could make that happen, but at some point it must be tested in ranked
Let Beta classes stick to HotJoin and Custom arenas.
No need to make Ranked and Unranked crippled by MMR with Team – X
*where X is a number of Revenants
;)
Anet gave birth to Gw2 – Anet killed Gw2.

What? Beta tests are not usually done in a production environment, this is the only online game I know that has done it. For PvE it doesn’t matter but for PvP it sure does.
Miranda Zero – Ele / Twitch Zero – Mes / Chargrin Soulboom – Engi
Aliera Zero – Guardian / Reaver Zero – Necro
I fail to see the point of testing it everywhere but the place it really matters, but point noted.

so you’d rathre them not test it properly in pvp, and then when the expansion is released then have to deal with severe balancing issues caused by lack of testing?

Can they really not figure out how to balance the game without having players testing it despite the fact the devs themselves can play it as much as they want? If so, I think that’s a big issue and the reason why the balance is pretty bad now.

players will cause many unforseen circumstances to appear, unless you can 100% guarantee that your testers will have tried every possible combination of setups, strategies, and even hardware setups (depending on the hardware can effect the way you rotate through skills) then yes you can get it perfect before release, unfortunately in the real world you will never cover 100% of eventualities (if you could there would never be glitches in any game ever)
therefore they will balance it as well as possible before releasing to a beta test, but it is far more effective to then use a beta test to get more data & make improvements based upon that.

I totally understand they can’t catch every little thing when trying to balance the game, but shouldn’t they have most of it figured out? I do think so and that’s why I have no clue why the currently released specs are so different in terms of strength. Some of them are horribly underpowered and some of them (one of them) are way too strong. How does the team who develops the game does not notice what’s wrong with certain skills when an average player sees it after the first use? This is the thing I will never understand.
I agree to limiting them in unranked.
The Dhuumfire thread
How about not taking the game so seriously? It’s just a weekend beta.
