Poll: Should Skyhammer be Removed?
Until they remove the breakable platforms and make the cannon evadable, yes.
I will say, I don’t mind falling but engineer magnetic pull being conveniently a slow-cast spell and pulls you right over the glass that they casted it on, and there’s basically no counter other than stability, it’s pretty GG. At least fear you can cleanse/CC break before you fly off if you have it.
I think it’s the easiest pull to avoid. Just roll after the animation flashes.
9 times out of 10 they are invisible from elixir S toss or precast it from out of LOS and then move in at the last moment.
I should know because I abuse this all the time.

Exactly. I don’t mind Skyhammer as a fun hot-join map, but not in ranked competition… And even with templates, some classes just have it way easier then others…
Yeah, it should be removed from solo queue, it’s a fun map to play in hotjoin or with friends.
I’d like to see more of this kind of stuff, I don’t play spvp very seriously or competitively and right now everyone plays like it’s some serious business, good thing a map like Skyhammer comes into rotation once in a while.
Revert it back to what it was pre patch and remove it from solo queue.
I think this is a very interesting map, that shouldn’t be removed. Of course, if you don ‘t have any stability …. you’ll cry.
To be honest, the problem is the soloQ balance (communication between players too ?!), and not the skyhammer map. If you have a good team, with a lot of stabs and controls, it’ll be ok.
If you don’t have stabs, you need to stay near the walls, manage your evades etc….
I don’t have any problem with this map cuz it force me to play with the environement. If I am in the wrong place, if I didn’t manage well my evades, if I am knocked back, that’s my fault

So if i get pulled out of stealth (the engineer/thief) which got into stealth away from my LOS, and pulls me into the glass to my death in the side point while i’m capping… are you saying this was all my fault ? That i could had reacted to that ? Because quite honestly i don’t know how to counter that unless i’ve perma stability.

But, if you’re in the cap area corner, or outside the cap area, that’s much more difficult for them.

When should i use blind,fear,interrupts,immunity or sanctuary or shield n5 if i can’t see when he’s about to use it on me while he’s in stealth, and I have not seen him getting into stealth…. and all of that considering the best case scenario in which I have everything off cd.

If I play guardian I perma break the glass and use shield skill n°5 if someone is coming + stab.
If i’m out of stabs or evades … I go somewhere where the thief can’t pull me into the glass (means I lose the point if he’s in the middle ).
If you know how to play and use the environement it’s easy !!!

Good players will usually stealth line-of-sighting you and will have plenty of time to position themselfs. Now add in this equation another player to fight against, 80% of sPvP is not about 1v1s. Then what ?

That’s why I like this map, you need skills but you also need to work with your environement.
Some classes have it much better then others when it comes down to cc/punt/fear/immobilize people and have easier/more ways to gain stability, which its clearly unbalanced, the ones you play have it easy: necro and guardians. It literally takes not much thought or skill to 100-0 an enemy in one CC, which is far to much of an imbalance when we’re talking about competitive play, which should be about Player v Player not Player v Environment. Add in the undodgeable cannon stupidity and you just don’t have a competitive map.
Competitive games do not have huge imbalances or gaps between classes/players: LoL, CS, etc, which is exactly what solo queue should be striving for… competitive play.

Any kind of map that turns a cc skill into a potential one hit killing skill should be at the players own will. Forcing people to play this will turn people away. Instead of blaming the individual blame Anet for not creating an experience that brings in more players.
Exactly. Just a simple “do you want to queue for this map” option will do the trick to be honest.
That map was a giant waste of limited pvp dev time. It is disliked by the majority of plays AND caused the glory farming fiasco. Because of this map our one way to somewhat tell how experienced a player was is now useless (rank). dev time would have been much better spent on a new game mode or rewards. Please remove…i would rather have raid on the capricorn.
MMR reset next week or the December 10th patch offer the perfect opportunity to remove this map from solo queue once and for all.

Instead of removing it, can the devs elaborate why it should stay or any reason to justify why 1 of the most hated maps in solo queue rotation still hasn’t been removed?
If the reason involves working on fixes* to make it less cheese, why not remove the map completely, fix it, then bring it back for player feedback to see if skyhammer is more competitive rather than force feeding us a map we don’t want to play (the poll speaks for itself).

Simple the Devs invested time into it and can’t let go that it’s a failure so they are trying to salvage it. It’s like a sunk cost. They just can’t let go

The only thing which is really broken and an insult are players like you, who give up at the very beginning of a tournament (even 5vs5, making it 4vs5) and afk for the entire match.
