Seeing that we seem to have a issue with stupid pug people or parts of teams that can not co-operate well together to simply hold capture points. Why not toss this question out.
Is conquest really great for (Competitive) pvp as far as holding points for the majority of the game? Just to win you must had a speedy and smart teammate or just smart people to begin with and you just sit on circles.
Now that being said there is some.. strategy to it but it seems to be failing hard when you have just one not so smart pug on your team.
My question is now what would be better for competitive pvp:
Conquest which is a new concept come gw2 and fun at times but can be stressing.
Stronghold which is a reminder of JQ and FA from gw1 and can be a bit more interesting.
Or go back to the glory that is Guild Wars 1 and play a style of Team Death Match with maybe some bonus damage or help somewhere in the map like coliseum but no point holding.
What say you.
Conquest is far from a new concept. It exists in many other MMO games and works well.
Conquest is very old concept, derived from fps games. To answer your conquest question, yes it is. Repetitiveness is the reason why we wanted more game modes.
