Poor skill being rewarded in PvP
I agree 100%. Here on the we see constant complaints and L2P comments. But people overlook the fact that none of this stuff had a place in this game in the first place? With all this insane damage you would think the average player have 50k health pool.
Your #1 point is 100% incorrect.
So is #2, so is #3 (heartseeker does not teleport you, and I can tell you have no idea about theives apart from generic D/D glass cannon), so is #4, and to round it off nicely, so is #5.
Balance isn’t that bad, its more broken skills/traits as well as the game mechanics around capturing nodes that causes issues in tPvP where people, ya’know, play to win, that are causing “issues” and mass exodus.
Thanks guys and your right Infectious heartseeker is more of a spammable leap. It’s definitely not the players fault for using the quickest route to a win. If you give an easy mode system to defeat other players in pvp of course it will be exploited. It’s up to designers to make sure these things don’t exist, to create an even playing field where skill not broken class mechanics dictates a winner.

I like to categorize heartseeker more as “homing”. When the thief health gets low and panics he can press this 2 or 3 or 4 times to launch him straight to the target for a guaranteed strike if the target uses no counter (hard to counter 3 or 4 times in a row), evade all incoming damage, and do big numbers normally. With all the different mechanics these abilities do in 1 strike (spammable combo finisher, evade, gap closer, conditions, etc) why does it have to evade as well? Make it a possible penalty for jumping right on top of someone or in the fray of battle.

re: 2 – I resisted using haste for a long time, expecting it to be removed from the game, but it hasnt been. So… if you’re a thief and not running backstab burst combo, you are probably running a haste combo of some kind (or going condition damage). In any event, quickness is there for a few classes, its on a sigil, and i think a rune set i cant rem – but point is, the Devs have had plenty of chances to remove it and they havent. Seems like it’s here to stay. Personally i would prefer a game without any super crazy burst (or bunker – the two are related) in any form. But we have to work with what we’ve got. Still a fun game.
