During a recent match, an enemy Revenant and thief were both able to use my portal. They traveled through it as I attempted to escape and quickly killed me.

Portal should not be permitting the enemy team to travel through it. This will pretty much break portal plays and to a lesser extent the whole Mesmer class for ESL purposes.

I was not recording at the time, but I did speak to the Revenant shortly after they killed me. They confirmed having used my portal. Chat log follows;

This is worthy of an emergency fix before the next ESL matchups.

Where did you leave your portals? Were they close? The Revenant said he teleported to you, when you used your portal. If I recall corecctly, Revenant has a teleport skill. This means he’ll be targeting you, waiting for you to use your portal, then teleporting to you by using his skill after you’ve come out the other portal.

Although I don’t play Revenant so I could be completely wrong about that.

+1 this is a very important bug that must be fixed before ESL

The revenant states that they traveled through my portal when I used it. I’m reasonably sure it was too far for a revenant teleport. I admit I haven’t played rev enough to be certain of that.

No, no working as intended. It is only logical that a revenant follow you with its teleporting skill when you are also teleporting and the same is applied to the thieves. However they have not been using your portal. You made a mistake here.

The revenant confirmed having used my portal. I saw them appear just as an ally should. They said “I’m teleporting to you thro (sic) it when you use it.” That’s not a revenant teleport and it wouldn’t apply to thieves in any case.

At the very least this is worthy of being checked carefully.

No, they’re just saying that they teleported to you when you used the portal. You’re simply misinterpreting what they said.

Are you aware that revenant unrelenting assault follows through Portals? Also, this only happens for this skill and will never happen with a thief. To clarify, he is not teleporting after you but rather with you.

Rev probably just ended up on top of the portal after unrelenting assault. Thief could have just followed you with shadowstep or steal. I think it’s also possible for them to follow you if you trigger their shadow trap, but I don’t believe that skill is commonly used anymore.

Perhaps you’re right. I have seen a couple of perma invis trap thieves running around. Maybe I’m panicking over nothing. Sorry for that. It certainly devalues portal some if an enemy rev can ride through on the Mesmer.

Or probably the thief used Shadow Shot too.

If the revenant uses sword #3 before you enter the portal he will port with you.
This is known since a few months.
