Post Ready Up 20! Elementalist Perspective
The “Problem” with Scepter is in my opinion not the strength of the weapon but the difficulty to use it properly.
Ive seen very powerful scepter Eles in PvP, though i rarely see any scepter Eles.
Actually the most powerful Ele builds I’ve seen so far were scepter Eles
Be happy if you see any PvP related buffs for ele. The class is in a good spot right now, and will be even better after the next patch with the nerfs to thief. It is a good time to be an ele.
i play scepter ele and can confirm, scepter is awesome the way it currently is, currently teaching it to my friend, and it seems its difficult to manage(i kind of think its pretty easy tbh)
Indeed I acknowledge some improvements to the Elementalist in the past few months, but the Focus weapon has been sidelined for a long time. The scepter/focus or dagger/focus elementalist is more concerned about CCing the opponent. Why? Because they have less mobility with these weapon sets. So let’s see some “love” offered to the Focus weapon.
My point about targeting the opponents with AI “adds/equipment” still stands. If you have problems targeting your opponent because the “adds/equipment” are selected first, (1) it’s a DPS loss; (2) it can be certain death. There are ways to minimise this problem, but quite simply, the targeting design can be considerably improved.
Basically you want it to be easier to target people, essentially making it “easier” maybe the current targeting system is the way it is to make it not quite so idiot proof ad force the player to be active.

No, it’s the way it is because it’s not been improved further yet.
We didn’t originally have player-priority - that was added as a quality-of-life feature and it’s pretty great, especially with all the adds running around. Taking it further and allowing us to choose not to tab-target adds at all? That’s just the next logical step.
It’s hard enough to reliably tab to a player when there are four of them all moving around and some popping in and out of stealth - having to then tab past a bunch of adds is just another of the big clutter issues that this game’s UI has.
A change like this certainly wouldn’t stop players from needing to be ’active’ (whatever that means in this context) but it would definitely make AI-tastic builds feel that little bit less annoying.
