Too hard to add a target nearest player. Not like every other MMO has had this for 10 years..
lol you guys dont know how to use it effectively i guess, i have noticed great difference.
for example, you are facing warrior mm necro, and spirit ranger.
you press tab, and you have the warrior targeted, then tab again and u have the necro, then the ranger.
if you press tab one more time it will go through the minions and spirits
so all you have to do is loose targeting( click anything that is not a player, like a wall or something) and press tab again and you will be back on the warrior
how u know how we use it if we never told you how?
if i for example has no target and get with the first target a turret it seems total wrong for me.
Just in case you didn’t already know…
Goto Options>Key Binds. In the “Targeting” section, there is a “Target Nearest Enemy”. By default, there is no keybind for this. So if you haven’t done so already, I highly recommend you do. (In GW1, the same function was the C key. )
Since the patch, I’ve had Spirit Rangers and MM Necros in battles around a point and I’ve always gotten the player even though I was surround by the spirits or minions.

Tab targeting now prioritizes players over NPCs (including minions; mesmer clones are an exception) and champions over everything else.
My reading of the patch note suggests that you’ll still tab through NPCs, preference is just given to players.
Are you expecting it to cycle only through players?
Either way, I’ll pass this along to the team to double check it’s working as intended.

there is button option to target nearest enemy.
I’m also having difficulty targeting the nearest enemy. I noticed it in the CM dungeon when I was trying to target the closest bandit (literally in front of me), but I kept targeting the boss who was behind me and far away. Because of this new function, I keep missing my intended target. If the new targeting system was intended to target legendaries, could you please make that a different option instead “target nearest enemy”

Lol, it prioritizes champions for pve mindless grinding. I’m sorry but this faulty design just makes me laugh it’s so bad.
Patch killed “target nearest enemy” button.
Well, the most noticeable thing for me was during the Flame Shaman world boss event.
While I tried to press “target nearest enemy” to get embers, I kept getting the invulnerable champion, rendering tab and “target nearest enemy” useless.
That was annoying.
