Power Creep
The thing is that traps typically take time to set up. And they rely entirely on enemy movement to be effective. So while it may get toned down. You should probably expect there effects to have a bit more OOMPH than most utilities.
(The more direct counterplay involved with traps allows for them to be far stronger than the traps currently in game. Im actually hoping MOST traps gain the oomph they lack.)
I do think the should be strong, but on classes like thief or Mesmer, it seems ridiculous. They would literally be in downstate within two seconds of landing on a trap.
I would be more worried about True Shot, which base damage is too high for its cooldown. Also, they need to rework the trait that gives you stab on True shot, it’s close to 100% uptime stab on guard and the 7 sec cd trait that makes your arrow attacks knockback. Those are pretty crazy.
Anyways, I don’t like the way this is heading. So far they’re promoting that passive play no one likes. All the one button click aoe skills are a bit too much. I feel like the new guard spec is just a pew pew ranger with more dps and cc.
Also, no counterplay to traps as long as you can’t see the guard.

Also, I’m not just talking about Dragonhunter in preticular. Damage in general is getting out of control. PvP is becoming more and more instagib.
