Hi, I stopped being lazy and made a montage of some cool clips from never-before-seen scrims, tourneys, and stream vods. It’s got some fun stomps, bursts, fall-damage kills, and intense tourney moments. Hopefully you guys enjoy it, I’ve never really put out any content for the community, and this is my first time editing a video like this. Nothing against you OP, we can tell by your portals/ blinks that you know what your doing. but this video proves arena net’s kittenation.

Fire and forget due to a poorly thought out super speed mechanic on phats.
When you screw up use your over abundance of Blocks, Evades, invulnerables.
High damage Aoes, AOE CC’s.

You don’t play a mesmer, the mesmer plays you.

And they wonder why everyone quit..

Here you can see one of the classes i was talking about in other topic that is out of control and have way too much of everything.

It shows mesmer able to instagibs while also very hard to kill.

I see that you are skilled one but also see that your class is too powerful and when the 2 meets this what happens. So easy and fast kills not really fun to watch.

Video and gameplay nicely done.

well one is a thief which has high aoe damage on dodge( he killed clones more than he knew ) / condi cleanse on evade /more evade /unblockable cc

one is a necro who said on forum “coz so many block invul and dodge my aoe damage doesn’t count as aoe damage ”(they count as nuclear i suppose?)

both of them like to use term like passive defensive .

they should have clue about high aoe damage with short even no cd and auto proc and passive defensive ?

nope , they breath them like air , so other stuff like mes shield 4 must be called passive defensive ,mind wrack must be called unavoidable high aoe instantly kill button .

literally if we list all passive traits in game , mes has it least . and for every meta build , mes has it least too .

I mean, he just casually got a kill but throwing a max range gs out and decided to put it in a fragmovie.

They may be solid opponents but they definitely aren’t good fights.

Power shatter mes is the opposite of hard to kill. It plays marauder ammy and scholar armor. As already mentioned, mes has lowest number of passive defenses in the game. And high-level players don’t usually play Inspiration, meaning that outside of their well they have absolutely no condi cleanse. If you can’t figure out how to beat a no-toughness, lowest-armor, no condi-cleanse build then man the issue is not the build. To make up for this weakness they have port (easy to see) and Blink. That’s it. Blink is one-use. Just learn the build and its glaring weaknesses, and countering it will not be beyond you.

Whilst true that power shatter Mesmer is easier to play now than before specialisations were introduced, there are far easier and more viable power builds on almost every other class since HoT was introduced. Your complaints seem more appropriate when speaking of the game in general.

Passive defenses? His two defenses are blurred frenzy and distort, with 0 cleanse. That’s less defenses than like every other build currently being played.

You must be new here. Mesmer is always OP, even builds with just sword have the most passive and active defenses in the game. Its impossible to even land a hit on mesmer, and if you do they insta heal to full HP every other second anyway. They always land their Moa, which has a duration of about a minute apparently and is an automatic win for the match. Their sustained damage is the highest in the game and their burst has 0 sec cooldown and only needs 1 skill to pull off. Clearly a kittened broke as kitten class. Clearly. /s

If i where to post a video, it would be to explain the proper use of shadow trap, those “pro thieves” running that on temple the last proleague completly threw the game, cause they are to dense to realize you can do this:

On this forum passive is a adjective used to denote something the speaker died to, and has no other meaning.

All sarcasm. I main mesmer and what I wrote is what a lot of people actually think about the class. According to them its always the most dangerous class. It always has the most passive (ie passive procs) and active defenses. Always has the most condi clear. Always has a superior condi burst (even power shatter builds apparently have the most dangerous condi burst in the game….). People complain about the class without even understanding it. Its beyond ridiculous what some people claim.

Im just gonna go with the illusion of Mesmer being a GOD class is just another class mechanic that perma shatters its victims lol

Good play mime, really like the music but there is really something wrong with power mesmer. I ran a few matches against a power mesmer some hours ago and it was the exact same thing. Im finishing someone and then lose over 80% of my hp in an instant even with the toughness stat,

The damage makes absolutely no sense especially considering the permanent stun. if you manage to break through all the stuns and damage with some hp left, the counter is negated and then you have to go through another round of 20k damage burst and constant CCs.

When i down the mesmer it was only because i happened to not have anyone else pestering me at the time or adding to the CC.

Fresh air ele was nerfed for too much burst damage but mesmer being the studio’s golden class must be given special treatment as usual i suppose.

A – I don’t play thief. If you want to be a rude kitten go do it somewhere else.

B – I see some of your skills on cooldowns. All you did was place thiefs version of portal down, walk somewhere else and come back using your skill. What the kitten was so special about this that you felt it needed SS? So I say again, I don’t understand what you are trying to show here. Thief has a teleport skill? Everyone knows that.

Maximum burst has always been hallmark of shatter mesmer for 3+ years. Good thing is that a mesmer only has the opportunity to deal such burst in 10-12s intervals, with lowest sustain damage comparable to a cleric ele. This makes current HoT bruiser/roamer specs like rev have much higher dps overall and less chance to fail.

Any decent player will know to mark a power shatter mesmer once you identify them in the beginning match. As mesmer literally have enough skill defense for 5-11 seconds on 30+ cooldown time (including mass invis) then rest of the fight requires kiting to survive. So they’ll fall within few seconds if opponents do focus on them. Been like that for 3 years and any less attention on mesmer is an excuse for incompetence.

Likewise, ally teams literally need to nurture a power shatter mesmer. Especially when there’s a thief around, since kiting doesn’t work and thief quickly bait out mesmer CDs. Shiro rev also has such advantage over mesmer’s kiting skills since all skills hit +450 range.

There’s a reason why people prefer condi mesmer over power now, from all top teams to hotjoin heroes. Because you need to build a team around the mesmer to utilise its potential.
