I don’t mean to be insulting but I really don’t think anyone did any usability testing on the lobby practice areas or asked people who actually use these things. Here’s why:

AoE is obviously a disaster waiting to happen with the NPC’s so close to each other that you’ll end up fighting 3 the moment you try to do anything that has an area of effect or a bounce attack. Thief SB or Mesmer staff auto attack? Forget it. Want to practice comboing Thief SB4 then blasting with SB2? Say hello to 4 NPC’s at once if you try to do that in the upper area.

I mean BOUNDING DODGER alone is causing unwanted NPC’s to jump in on me while I’m working on something. I can’t even dodge if I don’t want to practice outnumbered situations.

Then there are the golems. The things are parked so close to the Ranger NPC that you always end up hitting one or two, keeping you in combat until you figure out what it was you nicked and go finish it off… again.

C’mon folks… there is no reason at all that this setup should have made it out of beta if anyone actually tried to use it. The problems become obvious after 30 seconds, especially if you try to take on one of the upper area NPC’s without first dragging it down the hill to get it away from the others.

3D real-estate is free… Make some more of it and spread these things around BUT don’t put them on different islands. There are times when we want to practice two or three on one.

We just don’t want to be forced into doing it every time.

I do think they should extend the training areas

The golems and Lord and all other training npcs standing around at the edges is just annoying sometimes
As it is now you cannot easily test high mobility skills (Warrior Whirlwind for example) without taking extra care not to rush over the edge and fall down

Overall i really like the new PvP Lobby but i too wish for a bit more space around & between the training npcs & golems

I actually jumped back into PvP today and i saw the new area for the first time.

100% agree, i actually thought the whole time there isnt alot of space.

Its like a really fancy version of a burger joint. You look at it and say wow, it is very pretty to look around. Then when you are around 50 other people in the same area you are thinking wow, could this place had better spacing?

Then you actually try the burgers and you are like very impressive its great, then the bill comes out to $50 for the burger and you are like whaaaaaaaaaaa?

When i was testing some things on my warrior, i dodge rolled and brought over another NPC by accident. Its pretty safe to say that they really didnt think out all the ins and outs.

I mean with dragon hunters/mesmer using ground AOE attacks you would think that players in the game would be moving around alot and yet the new PvP map isnt meant for it at all.

They truly still dont understand what makes there game unique.

OR……. Solo/party instance that allows you to set up an enemy in the same manner as the raid and fractal test golems, with added options for multiple targets. Prerferably with options for new specializations, too. Double preferably if they can be set up to use single skills repeatedly while bypassing cooldowns and such.
