Anet probably think they addressed spirit ranger in the last patch, so I doubt they will go further and actually make it balanced/not lame.
And its not about being balanced. The build should not be viable at all. It should be under powered and not balanced. This is because it is utterly ridiculous having spirit rangers with tiny asuras. It means you literally cannot see a thing EVER when even ONE spirit ranger is about. Not to mention having more ai in pvp than players.
This patch was in the right direction. But the sad thing is that it will just mean anet wont nerf spirit ranger again for ages.
So 2 more months of unplayable pvp where you literally cant see anything ever and just spam? Another 2 months of 1 elite = auto win any team fight? yes to both is my prediction.

2 months? Balance patches every 2 weeks now that PAX is over … Bug fixes still on the back burner.

- Projectiles and Beams able to fight off stealth foes. Currently beams don’t work without a target and projectiles fire into the ground with no target.
- Asura
- Solo Q issues
- Animations
- Matchmaking
- Hotjoins adding a “Play 5v5” and “Play 8v8” buttons.
- Incentives to play hotjoin and not hotjoin hero (even present in solo q).
- Lag, even though this doesn’t affect me (I always have 300 ms, wtb GW2 server for Oceanic, the amount of players this game would draw … currently there are very few MMOs with oceanic based servers)
Actually they fire into the ground because you’re looking at the ground. Shots fire straight forward in line with your camera angle. You’ll notice this if you try firing straight up into the air.

I know, but it should always be forward regardless of camera angle. Rotating the camera to a stupid position to combat a thief is just ridiculous.
If not always forward (there are times you may want to fire up) then have a toggle / button to reset auto attack to be horizontal.
I posted the angle/firing issue in engi forums specifically about static discharge. Few few tool belt skills are even usable with that trait. In fact it’s been brought up in engi forums a lot.
Should a seperate thread be posted in spvp for all projectile firing? Would make stealth targeting viable for projectiles.

Reality is:
Nothing will ever change if the Vigor/Sigil Of Energy issue is not fixed.
Fixing this would naturally also mean that a lot of skills should have their dmg reduced, while those with high dmg should get a new and better telegraphed animation.
If this happens they will get my attention again. Until then you can find me in CS:GO and Dota 2
Casting bars would fix the asura and animation issue, but Anet seems hesitant to add them. It would make the game way better though.
I’m just putting this out there, but if spirits are going to be redesigned so they are less visible and less distracting, it isn’t something that it just handled by the balance team. It is something a graphics team is going to have to rework, which, depending on the backlog/work schedule, may or may not see immediate attention.
So, even if it is something that is necessary, it isn’t going to be the quickest fix in the world, because it isn’t something the balance team can just do overnight.
