Premades Vs Pugs
Why is this allowed? How is it a fair match up if you have a premade team versus a random PUG.
Match teams with teams, match duos and trio against other teams with the same, and match PUGs with PUGs. The current system is ridiculous.
The answer is simple and its the same reason for the mega servers. Anet does not want to admit their pvp system is unpopular/unbalanced and next to nobody plays it, much like a couple of years ago. Thus you either have upwards of 6 minutes queues or you merge them. They took the later option.
The term Exploit means nothing in GW2 –

And then they split the queues into ranked and unranked, which divides up the player base and raises queue times. Essentially they accomplished nothing except ruining the solo player experience.
Its not like the matchmaking system is even trying..
Countless times, I’ve seen matches where its 5 pugs vs two 2-man parties and a solo.
Why isn’t it at least putting one of the 2-man parties on each side?
They are in the same match…. yet the game can’t figure it out.
….unless of course there is some additional math behind the scenes which determines how the matchmaking happens….. but anet has never been transparent about how teams are chosen to begin with.
Recently I have experienced something opposite. When I am in a full pug team against full premade We have beaten the premades very easily and wide margin.
Conclusion would be that teaming up is already heavily penalized in match making. I wouldn’t advice forming a premade unless all in team are solid players and actually use voice com.
