Guild Wars 2

I don’t know if this is a common occurrence, or if i just got very unlucky yesterday, but whenever I chose to “Play Now” I would get into a game with 4-5 people who would tell me they were on a “private server” and they were dueling and i had to leave. Now I don’t join sPVP games so that I can duel, but I figured it was just a way for me to practice my skills against other players of different class types and thought I would just join them. However, because the server was “private” they did not want me to be able to join them whatsoever in the game so the 2 opposing players who were not currently dueling would sit outside of my spawn and insta 2v1 me if i tried to play. I play a glass cannon sword/dagger thief and could usually down both of them, but i would die trying to stop them after i blew through my utilities.

I figured it was not a huge deal and i would just quit and go to a new server, but the VERY next game i joined had the same thing happen! 2 players would jump me every time i tried to leave spawn and i was unable to successfully down and stomp both of them. I must say i found the experience VERY frustrating. I don’t know if anyone else has experienced something similar? I honestly do not know how to handle a situation like that next time. Would it be appropriate to report them? Ignore them and just picker servers until I get reasonable players?

The solution – do not press Play now and just choose a server that has 6+ people playing.

I’m surprised you didn’t troll them back, If I were you, I would’ve shadow refuged in spawn and gibbed the people dueling over and over again.

95% of the time all my guild does is duel. We always tell people who just joined that we’re dueling. Usually they respect that and we let them watch. Everyone who’s watching takes turn dueling. If there’s no mutual agreement then just simply leave that room.

That’s what happen in a game that doesn’t have such tools like any sort of 1v1, people have to arrange something like this to try their strategy/talents; anyway the answer has beeen given some post above me.

We do the same thing in WvW as well……If someone from your own server adds in typically you let them know it’s a duel. If they insist on being a tool, just send the people watching on the other servers in to take care of it.

Until ANet puts some method for players to test their skill in 1v1 in officially, we will be forced to use methods like this.
