Honestly it’s not really good to watch, there is too much time wasted between games and is so boring.

What could be useful?

Some replay/ralleny tool to underline good plays in the previous game, good fight, good duels etc.

Something to underline mistakes or good plays, something casters can comment.

Yeah, the little charr is cute but honestly….srsly? There is too little focus on the game and on good plays, basically casters could talk about their life during the game and it woul be the same.

You need to improve this aspect.

It wasn’t the plan; everything got thrown off by two unexpected cancellations. Use some common sense.

+ 2 games cancelled.

Not offense but you need to be really proud to have 2.5k viewers, are really too much for a show like that.

The fact they cancelled 2 games only make the show worse.

This doesn’t change the fact there is nothing to comment good plays or to rewatch some good fights after the game.

I don’t mind the delay between games, I find a certain amount of talking about the games interesting. What I do mind though is that the 2 best games of the week, both of which could have gone 2-1 were cancelled. Seriously, why is this? There were no cancelled games in EU last season from what I remember and now 2 very important ones in one night. The start of the pro league which I have been looking forward to for ages has been absolutely ruined for me and I will not be anywhere near as excited for next week. Hopefully that will change if the matches are good but my expectations are now very low.
I understand that the cancellations probably couldn’t be helped but it really annoys me, especially as someone who truly cares about the pro league. Massive disappointment.

Yeah I agree, ingame there is no tool to do that (and it would be really usefull for spectator mode too) but i think they could use some external tools to record the match and analyzing it frame by frame (at least good plays).

They can absolutely improve this aspect.

What are they gonna analyze though?

“Yeah Jim, the time when they all came to mid and spammed aoe on the point for 30 seconds was really clutch.”

“Yep, I agree with that Bill. The problem the other team had is that they didn’t spam their aoes quite hard enough.”

This comment is the proof this game needs desperately replay tool or similar.

There are a lot of good plays during a big fight or duels, many times the right timing and good positioning makes the difference.

But simply the majority of the spectators and casters can’t catch that during the streaming .

I think you’re drastically overestimating the amount of clutch moments that happen in team fights. An even-numbered team fight is 90% of the time nothing but aoe spam until something happens that tips the balance.

That’s not to say there are no skilled plays, because there are. The key is that the skilled plays are almost entirely restricted to broader team strategy and tactics; the portal into a stagnant fight that cleans it up, the rapid response by the roamer to +1 and consolidate a point. However, there’s a very limited amount of those in games and an even more limited amount of discussion that can occur about them.

Even duels are hardly worthy to discuss. If it’s an even duel then it’s boring to watch two people slug it out. If it’s an uneven duel then there’s usually not much to say past ‘yep, they died pretty quick’. Maybe a short analysis of a mistake or poor play, but now they’re really stretching for time.

Ultimately, this game isn’t like LoL or other mobas. There are no team itemization strategies to discuss, no counter-building, no counter-picking, rarely are there changes to strategy mid-game, and big fights are a clusterkitten of skills and aoe spam that not only are difficult to cast and analyze, but hold very little useful information to deconstruct in an analysis. GW2 is just not a good spectator sport, and that’s basically how it’ll always be.

It’s always like that.

I don’t ever watch it live – I w8 2+ hours and start watching the vod’s on twitch… It’s easily about 80% where no1 plays or at least the builds are shown.

I don’t watch live due to how big of a time investment it is vs watching the VODs.
I love the VODs since I can skip irrelevant parts of the show.

A victor gives no quarter when the victor shows no clemency or mercy
and refuses to spare the life in return for the surrender at discretion (unconditional surrender)
of a vanquished opponent.

I don’t agree with you, there are a lot of things could be underline during the fight, the support from ele or druid, the timing to focus the right target, the capacity of 1 player to disengage or finding a better position, right rotations, understand when leave and when stay etc.

There are all things right now with this bad camera and with this continuous camera switch from casters you can’t see well in the game. It’s a fact.

There are all things every pro player can do really well and if underlined and explained to “plebs” can help really a lot the game to grow.

If people think “win who has more aoe damage” I’m sorry but higher level this game doesn’t work in this way.

There are A LOT of things a pro player does and a low med player doesn’t or doesn’t know, it’s simple a fact.

This game at high level is really fun to play but basically only pro players (I’d say mainly 4-5 teams) know really well how deep is the gameplay at high level

Casters analysis is terrible
