Over the last few days I have seen a few unknown characters in Heart of the Mist with pro team guild tag (tag and name) in Amber division. I know there are currently no rules against a pro team member running an alt, but do you think this should be changed so Pro players are restricted from using alt accounts in ranked play?

If they soloQ of their alt accounts its imho completly fine.
If they make alt accounts to tank their guildies MMR in premade, they are abusing system and should be probably permanently banned.

Smurfing was gonna happen and we all knew it when GW2 went F2P. Problem is that there’s no way to control it (ban IP to log from another account? don’t think so). I’d say let them play in low ranks so the new players in pvp can see for themselves that it takes more than copy/paste builds to win.

Ban entire premade, which had profit in tanking MMR while using their F2P friend.
People won’t risk getting their main accounts banned, because they need HoT to stay competitive, so its not real F2P. In best case for Anet, they need to buy GW2:HoT once again…

Problem is the way the system works is wrong. They have to change/remove the current MMR tanking system or people will continue exploiting it one way or another.
