Ok so after some 4k matches in ranked maps ive decided the past couple days to do unranked matched mostly to do courtyard. I love this map and enjoy doing it. Also i enjoy the orb map, not a fan of skyhammer but ill leave it at that. Heres the problem i had i spent maybe 2-3 hrs playing pvp and i didnt get 1 courtyard match.

I would like to suggest that unranked be for stronghold, courtyard, orb and skyhammer and ranked gets the other maps. I might as well of should of played in rank since i didnt get to play the map i wanted to and its not like i was the only one voting for it. It was getting at least 3 everytime and one time it got 7 and i still didnt get the death match.

I was losing my mind with the fact that im doing the ranked maps in unranked. I feel this is also spreading the players out to much. Anyways i just gave up and decided i wasnt gonna get to play courtyard, it be nice in the future if you can give the map more chances of play being all ranked maps are getting voted for in unranked.

Fewer maps can never be a good thing. All I can see happening as a result of this is longer queue times.

Honestly, courtyard should not be part of the same map rotation as conquest. People set up builds for conquest and not everyone is capable of adjusting within the timer to be suitable for a team fight, not to mention how much more unbalanced a courtyard match of pugs vs premade is compared to conquest. It’s certainly possible to win against the odds, but it’s hell of a lot more difficult to carry bad/new pugs. I suspect that stronghold, when it does come out, will be a ranked map or (even better) in a separate queue from conquest.

If you specifically only want to play on certain maps, you can always run down the hotjoin list to find them….I mean, I specifically avoid the ones you mentioned but to each their own?

u jus hav too bee carfull w/ thos custom arenas. usu a courtyard custom will be setup by a guild and they are just farming the +1’s that enter.

so if u join 1, bee shore u aren’t vs a full premade guild

You think? I find it harder to carry inappropriate builds (like shatter mesmer or celestial engineer), but a lot easier to carry bad players. All they have to do is to pack and spam skills. If you play a tanky CC spec, you can really carry hard, while in conquest, if one player can’t rotate, you are pretty much in a 4v5 situation.

It might have the exact opposite effect than what you’re trying to achieve. In ranked, where there is only four maps, you almost only play Foefire and Niflhel. At least when you play unranked, these maps are sometimes not in the three proposed maps, and I play a lot more on Khylo, on Temple or on Spirit Watch, three conquest maps that I like.

If we did as you suggest, the favorite map (probably Champion’s Dusk) would be picked all the time. That’s fun only for a while.

I usually queue with at least one or two friends, so it’s a little easier to rotate and try to compensate for the bad player on conquest. Whereas on courtyard, there’s not a whole lot I can do about the guy who ignores you in chat and instead just dives straight into the enemy and feeds them 200 points over the course of the match, especially when those fights tend to snowball off the first kill…
