Problem with Elite specs in PvP
Has it really been stated that the algorithm works this way?
Has it really been stated that the algorithm works this way?
Pretty sure it does. This and last bwe ive been getting matched with the usual poeple i know, some with elite and some on their base characters.
Maybe it does maybe not, but using class or elite specs for match making is pretty much negated because people can change their specs and class at the start of the match.
I don’t really know the algorithms involved or anything, but I have been on both sides of crazily imbalanced matches this beta.
Taking a break from GW2 to play various
Nintendo games..
It’s imparitive that the matchmaking algorithm distinguish a Ranger from a Druid, a Guardian from a Dragon Hunter, etc… Why? Here’s what’s happening… You have a team of 5 with ranks: 70,72,80,80,80 and another team 65,80,80,73. One of the players red team is running a Druid for the first time, if match making treats them as a Ranger they will be taking a new build and new play mechanic with no existing meta up against well practiced proven builds a. Team will get a lucky win or slaughtered If it’s the later an assessment may be made hat the Elite Spec isn’t as good and then it will be left to private gvg matches for meta to be formed by a handful of people.
and this is why matchmaking fails. Ranks are a horrible way to do any type of matchmaking. The game has been out long enough that a lot of people have high ranks. Actual gameplay results (MMR) should be the main deciding factor. Other important stats are premades vs pugs, and profession stacking.
