Problems with lack of Incentives?
There is defiantly a huge lack of incentives imo. I would be fine if it was just about cosmetics but even that department is lacking with most of the stuff being either easily obtainable, elusive on the gem store or ridiculously hard to obtain.
I thought the crafting system and reward chests were fun at first but its really just a mess and I can’t help thinking they are trying to overload you with useless gear so you buy bag or bank slots.
It also doesn’t seen like anything has been added that hasn’t been tied to the gem store and you feel more progression logging in everyday than actually playing the game.

Totally agree.
Even if I could just improve my current ladder position (e.g. similar to the leagues in lol), that would be enough of an incentive for me. (MMR based ladder! NOT farmland!)
Primoridal (S1) & Exalted (S2) & Illustrious (S3) Legend
Frankly, I used to play wow (oh noes!) and the incentive there was to obtain better gear so then it would be easier to kill your opponents.
Well the whole point of pvp here is no grind/even & balanced gear.
So with that idea, getting better gear becomes getting better looking / more rare gear.
I feel like the true incentive of WoW was the rating. All this game needs the return of a MMR based leaderbord, and with guild leaderboards coming out, we would finally have a second reason pushing us to play / find teams( besides the fun factor )
Rating would be good. I get the no grind idea, but the lack of striving to achieve something tangible is a huge turn off. I hope they implement some change here.
Another incentive would be Gear only available through PvP.
Low tier PvP armors ( 2-3 sets) , available only through a PvP reward track
Mid tier PvP armors ( one for reaching top 1000, one for entering top 500)
High tier PvP armor – winning a weekly tournament ( arena or conquest)
Highest tier PvP armor- winning a WTS tournament
These plus a mmr based guild leaderboard would be a great start.
Getting better at pvp is the best incentive I’d say. And you can climb the leaderboard and you’ll also get stuff from the reward tracks faster if you win more.
I don’t think ultra-competitive games like LOL have any incentives besides cosmetics and leaderboards either and everyone seems to love them.

Very true, the only problem is our current leaderboards do not accurately put the best teams/players on top, or give an accurate representation of how good you are.
Cosmetics are valueless because any pve player, even those that are terrible at the game, can get all the armors much more easily than an actual skilled PvP player.
So yes, increasing your skill is the only incentive at the moment. But at the moment only you or your team can really be the judge of how good you are/ better you’ve gotten because the leaderboards are not accurate, and the less skilled players have all the best cosmetics.
Well you have my vote for skins that can only be acquired through something else besides just time spent in PVP. Bring back tribal/stalwart skins!
Personally, I was saddened that the PvP-exclusive armor (Glorious) … kinda looks like crap.
PvP-exclusive armor should be worth wearing.. Since this armor is so unpopular, it’s doubtful we’ll see another set any time soon..
They could have just brought back Tribal skin through the PvP reward track and it would have been better than Glorious. Glorious just looks like a remixed AC armor set.
It was really short sighted of them to leave out a ladder system at launch. Most pvp players don’t give two kittens about cosmetic progression, me included.
We need something that shows our progress. Fun alone only takes you so far.
