I wouldn’t put thief that low, there are some really decent thieves I love seeing on my team. Out of my almost 1400 games in soloq (yes I’m a masochist), I’d say Ranger and Mesmer are the least favorable I like to have on my team. There are a couple of good ones I’m always glad to see, however most are pretty underwhelming.

That’s team queue and I don’t really remember Toker playing on thief in the matches I’ve had with him. I’m pretty sure he usually played Mesmer.
Also don’t go by leaderboard ranks, the guy who’s rank 3 on solo queue played under 20 games.
Lastly wrecking unorganized players isn’t really something any profession can’t do. Thief just does it the worst.

This thief build imo can really put up MASSIVE DPS and can really change the flow of a team fight if ran properly just my 2cents.
Turret Engi’s wreck teams in YoloQ. Just one well played turret engi will win a match for his team because your average yolo player just can’t handle them. A ton of players run zerker for the cheese builds and that’s just free points for a Turret Engi. Get more than one on a single team and it’s gg.
Couple my previous statements with the fact that most people are running cheese builds and/or zerker amulet and I will call that graph pretty spot on. If more Mesmers utilized portal they could be above Warriors.
I think Rangers and Thieves should switch places though, and maybe even put Thieves just under where Mesmer is located. Power Rangers are nothing but cheese. They can’t get out when pressured/focused and will get eaten alive by condies. Thieves can at least reset a fight or disengage to go to another contested point. Good ones, if they don’t kill you in their first attempt, will do this. Bad ones will stick around, even if they can kill you, and will fight for that one kill while every point around them is being flipped.
As a returning player, coming from Necro to Ele, I can say that I feel about right on that scale as well. But I also have a biased opinion that Ele is rather kitten right now due to our elites being garbage. We have Tornado for knocking people around.. but you can be immobed for days while using it, especially by a turret engi which takes me back to my original paragraph.

The reason thieves are in such low regards is usually not because of the build, as virtually useless as shadow arts is in solo queue.
This can go both ways. A good thief can carry in solos and more than one (talking burst of course, so I’d say d/p) can be deadly for just easy bursting down targets as long as you have, say a couple mid-full bunkers on the team as well such as a guard or d/d ele.
But on the other hand If there aren’t any classes to sit on points and to soak damage then it will be difficult for the team. If the the thief is mediocre then they can be a hindrance if they keep dying.
eh it also depends what builds is enemy team running, couple of engis and medi guards and thief probably won’t contribute much
