Professions Seem Balanced

They clearly work on balance. But they do by scrapping diversity.
Unfortunately diversity is what keeps the playerbase for long.
I made it to Ruby division yesterday, and I must say that I didn’t feel overwhelmed on my Guard (except for one match yesterday). It feels like matches are decided based on the skill of your teammates rather than the strength of their professions. It would be nice if there were more than one viable build for each profession, but this is a good start at least. I hope AN keeps improving each profession and aiming for balance. It’s great to see Warriors and Thieves in my matches again.
How did you find playing guard so far?
I shelved mine during last season after a pretty frustrating stint and I hate to see him just collect dust
Playing Guard has been fun and rewarding. I can go toe to toe with most DPS professions, and I can usually contest a point against a sustain/bruiser if I play right. You will crumble if you make a lot of mistakes, though. I’ve already recorded a couple of good clips for my next video. What AN needs to address on Guardian is movement speed and sustain. If either one improved we would be more desirable for things like Pro League.

I think balance is best achieve by having less options. If AN only has to focus on improving one type of play style for PvP then it means they can perfect is easier. That’s the best way I can put it. I do think having diversity and balance is possible, it’s just AN isn’t making the right moves to have both. They’d need to overhaul a lot of traits, and make elite specs non-elite. Honestly, elite specs should offer a new type of play style for a profession, not make it better than the core profession.

Guard has less diversity maybe, but diversity as a whole is probably higher now than we’ve seen for a long time (and by diversity, I mean viable, strong meta build, diversity).
