Pugs vs teams?.
No, we need to sacrifice enjoyable game experience of 95% players to pat 5% of those who play in teams. Because esports.

They’ll get around to it…. eventually……….. hopefully…. whimpers
Thats why Anet should just toss the leader boards out the window. The only thing it does is fuel people’s egos.
Why do people even care about the leader boards it proves nothing about skill. If there are people that want to 5v5 Anet should make a team arena just for them and a leader board just for them.
Then the rest of the Solo’s/casual/new people can Que up something like the WoW style of a battleground. Cause face it half time some matches are good other people just fight off point or do something totally kittened and you lose. So why should 4 solo people be punished by losing points on the leaders boards because of some newbies bad play style.
If theres no Leader Board people have nothing to complain about.

Except for the PvP experience in general when trying to play ranked without a team.

Though I agree that leaderbords only work as fuel to the fire most of the time, it’s that very same fire that keeps PvP alive in most games.
If you remove leaderboards, PvP loses objective and competition. 2 traits that make PvP survive in any game.
Lastly, I agree that the whole team vs Pug is a problem. But GW2 isn’t the first nor the last game to do that.
Time to search for some PvP friends?

The best part is they mix complete beginners into the solo queue against the teams. I think it is like you said, to boost exports ego. Why not only put level 80’s against premade teams, if you feel this is worthwhile. They’ll still have a huge communication advantage…
Illustrious Exhausted Primordial Legendary Druid, and Mesmer for fun
PvE | PvP (1500)| WvW | Fractals | Dungeons

Yes, but devs ignoring that for some reason. Yesterday guildie who was playing spvp for literally few weeks tried to join ranked and got ROM and friends as opponents. I guess that was very “fun” experience.
