Up front: Definitely not a brag or complaint thread—it’s a genuine inquiry.

I don’t play on a team, so I solo ranked queue. Like MANY people, I got legend in the first two seasons. I unlocked all the achievements and crafted my backpiece.

In my situation, is there anything to achieve specific to season 3? Again, since I don’t play on a team, there’s nothing for me in the guild leaderboard. I’m looking to find out if there’s any new “carrots” for players at the micro-level.

Remember glory days? Yeah, there was no real motivation for doing pvp besides… well doing pvp :P

I personally can’t wait till ranked are enabled again. I hate unranked due to 50/50 MM, skyhammer, spirit watch, no standard models etc.

Oh I do remember those glory days, but in all honesty I don’t find the current meta nearly as fun as the climate of said glory days. So I’m in need of a little motivation

I don’t think there is anything special about season 3 that wasn’t in the first 2 seasons, but who knows? Maybe they will add some more rewards to the league ticket vendor. For me all the motivation I need is the AP, title and the legendary badge next to my name but if you are not interested in that and have all the other rewards, there may not be much motivation the pvp in season 3.

Anet will most likely be adding some form of “loot” (t6 mats maybe?) to the pvp vendor. I wouldn’t miss out on any seasons…

Although it may just be more pets, who knows for sure.

Only question will be when, if S3 or S4.

Because PvP is fun and you don’t have to queue for unranked anymore?

Idk, call me crazy, but there seems to be plenty of reward for PvPing. Of course, I also come from the days back when PvPing didn’t earn you much of anything beyond skins that you could get much easier from PvE.

@ Permafrost sorry to bother you with this unimportant question, but did you play Knight Online? I knew a player with the same name as you from that game.

OT: it would be good to see a kind of leaderboard back yes. And the reward track is kinda boring too, the rewards are not interesting at all.

getting and showing off phoenix/shark finishers (not farmed ones), walking around in cultural armor or high tier pvp armors in general was one of the biggest motivations ever. i got skins worth well over 3k gold just from what you’re calling “no real motivation”.

meh i had those skins in pve and pvp eventually w/o actually trying to get them, finishers weren’t really my thing (although i find the cow amazing xD)

i did pvp pretty much for pvp
