The patch has been a success for the most part, but point is, the way how rewards tracks are settled ( cap in hotjoin- no cap in solo q/team q) is obviously not working.

I’ve never seen solo q in such a terrible state ( team q on the other side is feeling good, though no one really wants to compete), people are literally REWARDED for afking ( cuz they wouldn’t get anything by not queing anyway, so who cares, even afking is a plus) and people literally ZERGING and IGNORING any possible strategy.

Currently there’s literally no point in joining solo q unless you already ended your reward cap in hotjoin OR you have no one to play with in team q.

Ye, cuz even duo queing in team q is way, WAY better than playing solo q.

This is kinda serious, pls fix this.

Sorry what? Have you ever farmed anything (dungeons, queensdale, fgs) in PvE?

PvE players get barely anything in PvP compared to what they could by farming PvE.

There are a lot of new players, new players have to learn, cut them some slack and don’t be an kitten .

Forced to PvP? what? It encouraged me to start PvP, I imagine it did the same for others so there are probably a ton of new players but I’m not playing it for the reward tracks. You can still get much more farming PvE.

I did 2 days of PVE+ for the hero of the mist weapon skins that black**** is gonna get (Represent) It usually takes me like two weeks to go through a mystic forge kit in pvp, I went through one each day.

The amount of loot pvers get is just stupendous and I wasn’t even 1 spamming as a guard.

Be nice to the pve heros.. pvp population must grow or all is vain.

PvE is significantly faster to grind, and arguably the same skill level needed (little to none).

If you don’t have a team to queue with… just play soloQ. The progression is insanely fast and its less team-competitive, meaning you will have a much larger individual impact on the team than if you were up against a coordinated team.

I would say its so fun seeing PvP players in fractals after they complained on how easy pve is.

Not that PvE is so hard, but i don t think pvp is either.

We could also call pvp players to kill the 3 wurms and tequatl. Few of them would surely be enough since they are so skilled.

P.S. being serious, 1HKo PvE system helps a lot gettng better at PvP also.
You learn to look for skill tells and evade them and to stay focused.

GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

I would say PvE players have forced out the PvP players. I can no longer play SoloQ because of how horrible it has become and I don’t enjoy TeamQ (I don’t like playing against PUGs) so I have basically given up at the moment. I just don’t feel like logging in anymore.

mind is different…. i play both pve (dungeons fotm lvl 50 etc etc) and spvp (rank 64, reached only with tournament, not hj) so i know both worlds…. in pve the goal is reach a goal like hight lvl fotm or farming some content, for farmin u should just hit much enemies as possible, and in fotm and dungeon u should just found a good corner to stack with others and know when to dodge, in spvp u have to know very well your class and others cause u have to take the right choice when u have an enemies, if u front an ele u should take a decision, if u find a war you should choose other skills… in spvp you have to coordinate with team mate, and first of all you should be motivated to improve yourself… i’ve found alot of ppl that told me “who care to win” this is not serius and ruin a game for ppl that wanna have a good pvp…. too many ppl stay on free point for cap it, when i say go they stay there for farm points… i should continue my list for hours… pve and spvp is different anyone can learn anything, but ppl purpose is different, and since the patch it was released, soloq it was destroyed

LordByron, I think your on the wrong forums to be talking about broken scaling mechanics of World Bosses.

But on a more serious note, I can’t wait for all those players get their backpiece since Arah is done for the free weak, no more AFK grinders every match. Though pushing them in to tPvP is what caused that, they were not ready for the mode and thus pushing them in to it caused them to choose to AFK rather then being degraded when they don’t have a clue what they are doing. Hot-joins shouldn’t have a cap so at least those that don’t want to learn are not forced in to team and solo q since some don’t even know the difference and ruining it for players that want to play the competitively as they AFK becuase they got degraded to many times for not having a clue what to do.

Pushing players in to tPvP with no clue on how to play conquest is what has caused the issues, it causes the more hardcore players to rage rather then try to teach since it is a competitive format and not a hot-join free play format.

Protip: PvE’ers stopped coming to SPvP after a day or two when they realized 15 minutes of dungeons > 3 hours of SPvP reward tracks.

Bad players are now just using them as a scapegoat as to why they are having a hard time in yolo q.

And why do people call them “PvE”, who honestly only PvEs in GW2? This is the absolute worst game in existence… I’m sorry… to be a PvE only player. There is no progression besides the artificial difficulty implemented in Fractal levels. We’ve gotten new dungeons at a rate of 1 per 2 years. And the handful of “hardcore” PvE guilds are forced to do speedruns through content they have done 10000 times, or solo bosses like lupi… looking for any kind of challenge at all, with no extra reward.

If anything the small number of retained players in SPvP are zergers from WvWvW that are having a hard time with strategies beyond following the blue chip and keyboard turning. But then you should ask yourself why is your MMR so low that you are being grouped with them in the 1st place?

You are right on cordination.
You are wrong on the fact is different.

A PvE fractal player (doesn t stack) will possibly learn fast to recognize any profession tell, CD and mechanic, also to not waste evasions.

That is at least a 30% of the skill needed for PvP.

PvE is not as easy as you think.

If you had things like lava font dealing 14.000 per tick as fast as it appears, or a warrior GS autoattack hitting for 9000, this forum would implode.

The awful AI is balanced with such numbers, but in the end you learn to react fast and the learn tells fast.

Those afaik are part of the required skills for any PvP game.

It also means good PvE players are probably potential good PvP players with some training and you should help them instead of complaining.

Since gw2 PvP is not that deep.

You do know that you will get kicked if you do AFK for more than a minute when a match has begun. So you cannot get rewarded if you’re kicked…

Lolz at beating scripted ai being as hard to beat as players Byron. There is no group of five players with half of brain that couldnt learn to beat any pve content in this game in fairly short order. Take those five players and they could train forever and probably not be able to beat the EU tournament of legends winners. The fact of the matter is that there is a huge discrepency in twitch skills and decision makers between different human players. The AI never gets any smarter he is programmed to do something at a certain level. Sure you can bump him up and then everyone adjusts to him. How can you adjust to a player that is always faster and smarter then you? The answer is you can’t and you don’t.

I’ve been doing pvp for months and I love doing solo que. There is a noticeable change with all the new pve players, but that just makes it easier for me to win and make money. Sure, I could use more of a challenge. But in the meantime…target practice boys!

I’m not surprised to be grouped up with bad/mediocre at best players at all, given I am not a very good player myself. I don’t expect that to change any time soon. If anything, the high end of the player base seems very dedicated and skilled. Someone already wondered if you’re just expecting to be placed in with the big boys without showing the necessary dedication and skill for it.

A look into the proverbial mirror does some good for everyone.

How are you forced? You can go get the same rewards through going and doing the dungeons or another way of PvEing. It’s a way for PvPers to get PvE rewards without PvEing.

The actual fact is PvP in this game is very twitch based more so then strategy or tactics.

The problem is twitch or fast reflexes don’t exactly measure skill – it measures an individuals reaction time not skill level.

So while you may be a faster player – that doesn’t necessarily mean you are the smarter player.

Slippery slope you started with your comment.

Also, for in my experience playing mmorpgs since UO/EQ1 PvP player’s tend to not be nearly as good in PvE and vice versa.

Odd how that works out.
