I feel this season has exposed all the pve players who were carried into legendary division in season 1-4.

I end up with players who I know play PvE almost all the time, and never PvP. How can these players be in the Gold division? They even say in teamchat that they’re only playing PvP this season because they want to buy Ascended gear … This makes climbing up divisions extremely hard.

It actually makes climbing the divisions easy if you are with worse players. You are factually wrong about what you are saying.

Beware, some many of us “who never pvp” are in Platinum League too. But I am sure that with your skills you rise to platinum and above. After all winning against players who are worse than you should be easy.

I have bad PvE players on my PvP team in almost every match I play. The teams I am playing against have Pro League players on their team. I am in Gold division. How are these bad players in Gold, and why do I get matchups against players who are in Platinum and Legendary division?

I mean it is not that hard to make gold division as PvE player right?

I spend about 50% of time PvE, 40% of time PvP, 10% of time WvW. I already made into platinum.

You are in NA I assume?

Game mode doesn’t determine ability outright. Playing to win is all that matters.

It’s like how when I started this game all I did was play WvW. Then months and months in I did a dungeon (PvE), and was outlasting all the PvE players I was grouped with, ressing their downed kitten, and having to solo all the Bosses. I knew nothing about the dungeon or PvE, but I understood the game better than those I was with, obviously XD

Some people are better at games than others. They play to win. Placement at the end of the season is the only true measure.

Oh I understood what you’re trying to communicate, I just um… shall we say think you’re perhaps biased in your recount of the events. Your team is full of soccer moms who only do open world PvE while working two jobs and the other team is full 5 man premade of Denial Esports. Sound about right?

I somehow got placed in gold after 10games (50/50) and then lost my first match and got put down into silver. Seems to be working in my case as I’m no pvper.

You WvW a lot though and that does bring over some experience especially if you’re more used to small scale/roaming.

The difference between spvp and roaming is so wildly different.
It boils down to the time crunch. In spvp builds are encouraged to passive defense and aoe/cleave dmg to squat on nodes. In roaming, the loss of a node is not devastating as the consequences are marginal which allows the freedom in choice of what build you play and how.

I didn’t say they were the same, you will have experience actually fighting both even and outnumbered, knowing what to avoid and how to position to deny skills etc. This is something zerglings and the PvE players who don’t or extremely rarely play PvP will have.
