PvE rewards in PvP
Take a look at the forums. People have been asking for a way to get PvE rewards from PvP for a long time.
Now, I don’t think that getting trick-or-treat bags instead of gear is the most elegant way to do this, nor do I think it addresses the problem of not being able to really earn any gold from doing sPvP, but the crossover isn’t inherently problematic.
Personally, I think it would have been best if they had have given a choice between gear and trick-or-treat bags.
we all just want to complete our pvp sets. :-(
Being able to gain pve rewards from pvp is good, it just needs some finessing – giving ppl a choice or fiddling the numbers.

Or, you know, cut out the problem at the source…
Make PvP enjoyable.
No one gives a kitten about rewards if the game is fun to play.
But I might be asking too much, I mean, this is only a AAA MMO company that made one of the most competitive games out there…

Rewards will always count for something and it gets ppl into pvp and increases population, from there on there is a stronger argument for spending more time on pvp cause a higher % of the player base are involved. GW1 had the HoH chest and /rank then Amber/Jade then Zaishen Keys and Champ Title. It does help everyone to get the rewards sorted out.
Tempt them in with sweets then get them to stay by having comfy chairs (or locking the doors).

The problem is that trick-or-treat bags suck even as a PvE reward.
Forums complain about missing holiday rewards—>devs include holiday rewards.
Forums complain about getting holiday rewards—>devs hint that they may reward double tournament chests the following month.
Forums don’t see that and continue complaining.
I think I see a pattern.
I really disagree with this. Although these Halloween trick or treat bags are completely useless to me, finally there is something that i can sell in PvP giving me a in game money from just doing what i would normally do for fun!
I’m not saying these trick or treat bags should stick or anything but it would be nice to gain 25-40 silvers per Team Arena game without having to just sell the bags to get that money anyway ^^
Proper PvP Rewards = Skins, tittles and money, nothing else! its not difficult :P
Frae.
Totally agree with Fraelin. I wouldn’t even be mad if it wasn’t gold as long as you could sell it in TP. However, those bags are just silly, you can get them in PvE so easily, it’s kinda insulting imo.
I was actually happy that they tried to give us some cross over…it just made a few casual players mad about not getting tpvp chests. I think if they gave the bag in addition to the chest it would have been more accepted by all players.

except the forum was complaining about missing PvE-Eventskins not Holiday rewards. Nobody wanted trick or treat Bags, just a chance to get Eventskins.

Totally agree. Forums complained about skins.
PvP players want the skins of PvE weapons and armors, from PvP, without having to go through PvE content. As a PvP player I do not need or want holiday rewards usable only in PvE environment.
I agree, it’s poo as it is. Fortunately, it appears they’re planning on doubling reward chests for a while after the Halloween event to make up for the mistake of replacing the reward chest with ToT bags instead of adding to the usual reward (as was the intention).
Only problem i have with this is that you get beter rewards for losing then for wining.
U get more gold from corn candy then from trick bag:(
I want that pve reward i can level my craft with that gold i get from PvP and some day with out much of grind i can hop on WvW .
I finally feal like im wasting no time playing pvp only:)
It is way better then endlessly same pieces of armor that i just destroy
Guys, there is a (very limited) crossover between PvP and PvE: dye. Dyes unlocked for a character are shared between both sections of the game.
You can forge (and occasionally find in reward chests) the PvP account-bound Unidentified Dyes. They’re not usable in the mystic forge and can’t be traded, so their only function is identifying to get a dye consumable.
I’ve recently gotten both Black and Abyss dyes by buying reward chests, salvaging the contents, and using the resulting PvP upgrade components to craft unidentidyes. Value for Abyss on the trading post was about 30g at the time. This is quite a bit of coin.
Some people are saying they’d rather get PvP kit to fill up their locker, but you can’t really have a complete collection without access to the wide variety of colours available!
I’d personally like to see more methods for obtaining dye colours in PvP, be this through coin rewards so you can buy on the TP, or more ways to get unidentified (or even unidentified of a certain hue or rarity) dyes through PvP play. Duplicates obtained can be recycled in the forge, used on other characters, or sold to fund the purchase of other dyes.

This. Just, this.
“PvP’ers” who care about rewards should hop back to PvE.
