PvP Amulet, Suggestion
I haven’t seen any talk going on about stat allocation from the developers(I might have missed a post) but I think that this is a problem that Allie has to adress and discuss.
If we want build diversity, we need better stat allocation so spreading the stats through stat patches* on armor pieces,weapon and earrings/rings would be a great thing.
*Stat patches was a past suggestion made on these forums about Patches with fixed stats(e.g Berserker Patch) which are added on your armor pieces to give you the stats you desire.
Or we could just change the stats when out of combat and in the heart of the mists, as the new “Legendaries” will work soon.
To the PvP and Balance teams, please adress stat allocation, this will boost the overall balance of SPvP as it would create new builds and more counters to the current(or any) meta.

This is how it used to work in beta, and no it is not optimal..
Comparing item mechanics to MOBA is plain silly as that is an actual mechanic of gameplay there…
It’s probably annoying to balance 1000 different stat combinations neither is it intuitive for newer players.
You can switch around your jewel if you want a “unique combination”
Having at least some standardization in PVP is good…
If I need a tankier build I just swap a talisman and Voila! Presto Changeo.
I honestly do not wanna see ridiculous Tough/vit/healing power talismans..
Nor do I want to see Condi/Vit/Tough..
So honestly there’s really not many other combos left.
You missed the point Darnis.
Forcing ALL the stats to one piece of gear -amulet- (and a small amount that doesn’t even matter on a jewel) is a big part of why the balance is so vulnerable. Right now if I want to play a damage dealer role, I have to go all in for it and be squeashy, if I don’t want to be squeashy and get a less offensive amulet my damage will drop down the floor.
There is no inbetween, trying to create a semi-bunker will not be efficient enough to fill any role, so you are doomed to play something at the edges, either full dmg or full bunker.
The jewel won’t save you, the stats are really non-existent
And I never spoke of new stat combination =]

Well, that is how it used to work you could custumize your gear a bit more…
But there are inbetweens.. you can take Berserker amulet on Mesmer for instance and actually gain some surviveability (IMHO) due to vigor crits.
Your build should be malleable enough to compensate for just pure stats..
You can take zerker jewel and roll an s/d thief.. also fine with surviveability..
Or you can roll a Warrior, take off all your gear put on heal sig and run around /laugh
/dancing (Hyperbole and sarcasm was used to craft this sentence.)
TL;DR:Survivability comes from abilities not from stats.
