How does everyone feel about toon switching before a match starts? Before you answer too quickly, consider that some of us who have played thousands of games can usually make pretty good guesses about what you are running, and how to pick a build that hard counters it. Do you think this is fair? What about newer players who have no idea what is happening and get farmed like juicy blueberries for their lack of understanding?

I think one should incur -5 points for their team, in ranked, when they toon switch before or during a match. How does everyone feel about this? Is it considered skill or cheap to switch ones build to hard counter opponents bad team composition?

This wouldn’t bother me at all if they would unlock trait’s /sigils / runes swaping ect in an ongoing match.

I support it, and in fact I feel the game needs picks and counter picks like dota 2. some comps stomp others, no denying that. the ridiculous matchmaker often does crap like matching 3 glassbow rangers and 2 necros against a balanced team. people switch for a reason – because the matchmaker doesn’t work.

It’s tricky. On the one hand it feels cheap when I see a team with 2 Teefs and I swap to a MediGuard. On the other hand, when I join as a Mes and there’s two other Mes players then it’s a Godsend.

We need SoloQ back, and allow toon swapping there.

exactly. if I queue up with my zerker or rabid engineer and I find out the rest of the team is zerker then I’m swapping. currently matchmaking takes neither classes or amulets into account, so we get teams where no one can stand on point, and it’s bloody hard to win with those.

Or being on a thief and getting two thieves and 2 mesmers as the rest of your team.

If I queue as a thief for example and get paired with another thief I am not going to stay on thief if they are. You are generally swapping to fix your own comp not counter theirs. Regardless of penalty I will always switch because the current leaderboards are a joke and i’d rather have a good game.

What if you were stuck with a class in a moba game?Wouldn’t you want to decide which class would do best for your team at start?

The only issue I have is mid-game class switching. It’s not allowed in Tournaments, why should it be in tpvp?

Players shouldn’t be able to see the enemy team until the match starts. This way the teams could still refine their comps before the match starts (rerolling after seeing that you have 3 thieves for instance) but there wouldn’t be counter comping.

I believe this was discussed months ago and we got some dev responses but it was either forgotten or will be added by HoT. A little transparency would be nice so we don’t discuss redundant things.
