Im pretty sure it goes like this. Pvp team says hey pve team here are the changes we got to balance pvp. Pve team says this is stupid this will imbalance pve. They both start crying and run to whoever is in charge. He goes wellll pve is a bigger concern sooooo these changes just wont work, try again. So until pve and pvp become separate skills there will be no balance. Just constant infighting between the 2 teams but the pvp team(which is smaller) will always lose. GG make a necro seacrest out.

In gw2, there is a lot of stuff that needs to be done. The people who worked on the league infrastructure are now probably working on the WvW infrastructure.

So, for the pvp team, there is probably only a single bot left who is watching over the matchmaking metrics, reporting failure after failure but nobody can see it^^

Nah, they are probably trying to fix the MMR system internally, that it will be ready to be shipped for the next season.

There is no PvP dev team… You do realize that right?

If there were such a team we would have new maps (that didn’t involve TONS of PvE), better balance update, map fixes, and a generally better experience in PvP…

Your asked where a thing is when it doesn’t exist… So I guess your answer is nowhere?

How do you balance pvp? How do game developers balance the classes between players of varying skill?

Remove passive trais (except minor) and bring only traits which improve your skills/utilities.
For example: Remove rapid regen trait in scrapper line. Change it into Something like: " if your hp drops bellow 50% and you are affected by superspeed, your heal skill heal you + 3k hp" or high amount over 5sec or something like this.

This only not for scrapper, but for all.

“Doctor suggest me, to stop play with engi because my fingers are broken.
So.. I start play scrapper. "

Why? What does that accomplish? It just adds a passive bonus to your heal, and makes the game much more spikey — with no real sustain.

People have already complained copious amounts about the burst meta, which things like this help provide, and it doesn’t even promote skillful plays in any way.

Thankfully, you’re not a game developer and you’ll never have any say in something like this.

You balance it based on players who are at even skill level based on actual game history. You then build matchmaking to create games that allow similar people to play together.
