PvP Matchmaking unfair?
Are you queueing in team or solo queue?
rank doesn’t equate to skill. rank can tell you their time investment, but they could have lost most of their games. if you feel like you always lose, i’d look at changing other things like your build, amulets, or even profession.

Then why is there no rank system? Someone who has played pvp for 100 hours is definitely going to be better than someone whos played pvp for 10 hours 99% of the time.
Its an issue during the first few games that you play. The system still tries to find out where you belong. So if you get a few (lucky) wins a row during your first games your MMR (matchmaking rating) will skyrocket to the top of the ladder. This will match you with ppl who are a lot better/more experienced.
If i look at your max rank on the leaderboard and total games played (on GW2score.com) combined with your story about you losing the last few games in a row, this is exactly what happened.
I really hope that when they change the ladders/pvp system they will fix this. Would be nice to get something like in Smite for example. Where you have to play quite a few games before you are actually able to play rated games.

I’m queuing solo
When you first start playing in solo queue, your MMR starts out pretty high, if you keep playing games then you should eventually be playing with new(er) players closer to your skill level.
I think there arent a lot of people queueing solo right now, so it can be kind of tough for the system to match you with people of a similar skill level.
If you continually get put with players you think are much more advanced than you are it probably is because there aren’t enough people queueing.

It might be true between let’s say a 40-50+ and a 60+ who farmed sh for 3 months straight from r30 (And there are many)…but from a r10 and a r40 the difference is huge anyway, never saw a r20 team wining against a 50+ unless those r20s are 2nd accounts..so yes rank has way less meaning than gw1 for sure, but noone would ever get a r15 instead of a r50..
Yes, my last several Solo Q games felt very unfair too. I actually laughed when I saw the first Shark finisher flying.
When your team’s highest Rank is 42 with several in their teens and the other has several in their 60s, something’s not going right…
I do wonder why it feels to happen more frequently all of a sudden.
