Does anybody else think that PvP Medium Armor is so visually underwhelming compared to light and/or heavy armor of the same rank?

I am currently rank 31, and have been buying a lot of wolf chests, as well as crafting at the PvP mystic forge, but none of the medium armor even comes close to looking as good as light/heavy. It’s like the designers first did the light and heavy armor and then got really lazy when it came to medium.

This is of course my personal opinion, but I am sure there are others who feel the same way.

I agree there also, I’m rank 30 and out of all the stuff i have gotten I’ve found the medium sets to be really blah, the only one I really like is mist walker.

Get PvP Leather set.

Agreed, a gazillion times, I thought it was just me. I looked through the entire PvP Locker & saw very VERY little to look forward to. Some of it looked just plain awful. I’m having to mix & match pieces because the sets together look horrid. Seems like most consist of some type of multi-layered flowing ripped-up trench coat, WTF?!?

Wasn’t exactly expecting Aion-level gear visuals but it’s 2012, is this the best AN could do? No, eye candy isn’t everything, but when you can’t stand to look at your character, it DOES make a difference.

Even fail MMO’s had better-looking gear than this. My advice: hire some of those unemployed costume designers from my 1st MMO, City of Heroes, THEY knew how to design some distinct, unique, really nice-looking stuff.

They share the appearance of pve counterparts, so yes medium armor is pretty dull.
Dunno when you can get them, but dungeon and cultural sets are also meshed in there so good luck with those if you like them.

Yes indeed , they can use a visual upgrade imho but the flame legion set looks very good aiming for that

Thank you for making this post. Was thinking about making one myself, but yeah medium gets kitten compared to heavy/light. I’m rank 22 and and have most of the mist walker set and I see no point in getting anything else cuz all other sets are just lack luster.

The Benjamin Franklin coat isn’t bad, just for the lol factor.

I don’t find any problem with coats, it just a preference I guess.

Duh. This is obviously so people would want to go light armor (aka mesmer.. lol ele necro what?)

Rugged and Mistwalker chests look fine and there’s plenty of cool helms (rugged, rascal, leather1, etc). And for the less visible slots, any set has okish to great stuff as well imo.

Now vigil is kind of a joke on norn engineers…
