PvP Rewards Patch really PvE rewards Patch.
if it would a pvp reward patch, pvp players would get rank and glory from new system for old wins.
One of the most telling things I heard on stream when they were going over the PvP exchange rewards for glory was the statement along the lines of:
“We don’t want people with tons of glory to just buy everything, we want you to put the time into it.”
So basically, because of skyhammer farmers we (your average non-exploiting PvP player) get kitten exchange rates. Apparently a years worth of playing PvP isn’t good enough time to be able to get reasonable rewards/skins and like you said, PvE players will walk in with everything PvP players were working for and more. The only good thing about the exchange was the levels you can get for PvE, which are very good imo.
It’s like time-gating time-gating.

Mesmer – Smash Kablooey
I’m really upset with all these changes. I worked hard and played a lot to get to rank 40, (especially after the crap of everyone getting the same rank points, even though I score way higher than others in most games.)
Now they are going to take away all the glory of being a good PvPer by letting all the PvE script kitties getting all my rank and gear overnight. Gear that took me a year to get.
Though I like being able to get gold when I play, because I don’t do PvE at all.
I have 150k Honor, and 130 Glory boosters. I assume this will be meaningless after the “PvP” patch.
While we may be getting the shaft in the sort term, this may be beneficial for PvP as a whole in the long run. Say what you will, this will encourage PvE players to give PvP a shot. More players in PvP will make them put more focus on it (hopefully).
Having shared gear between PvP and PvE is nothing new, you could do it in GW1. How all we need is the return of some of the PvEvP modes like Alliance Battles, Fort Aspenwood, and Jade Quarry.
Mixing the game modes is a good way to encourage people to cross over.
